Australia v Sri Lanka, 5th ODI, Hobart, 23 January, 2013 Empty Australia v Sri Lanka, 5th ODI, Hobart, 23 January, 2013

Post by skully Sun 20 Jan 2013, 20:28

In the past 3 matches Aus has managed 170, 74 and 222, and Fuse and Nikki have failed on each occasion, while Reeks simply reeks.

Will Bernie get serious for Game 5, a match we need to win to avoid a series loss? Will Aus be able handle Koola's dinky inswingers? Will there be more DRS controversy? Will we need Koo to make 50 to pass 200? Will dry old Hobart turn on the drizzle?

Tune in Wednesday for answers to these and other pressing JAMODI questions. geek

Forcast is for a fine day in the low to mid 20's. Unlikely to be as much swing as the previous two venues.

No. What's the gist?

Googly seems to suggest there was a massive falling out between Paris and Pup post Paris's final Test when they disagreed over farewell celebration locations (sounds a spin-off like the alleged Fleas v Pup confrontation). So was Paris punished by Pup and the NSP? If that's correct it won't augur well for Pup's rep with those that are looking for reasons no to like him - and there seems to be plenty of them - mainly Vomits.

Found this

"Mike Hussey is at the centre of a rumour doing the rounds by email, and published in of all places a financial gossip column on Thursday, that he and Michael Clarke had a spectacular falling out after his farewell Test at the SCG. According to the scuttlebutt, Hussey and Clarke had been split over where post-match celebrations should be held - Mr Cricket wanted them in the dressing room and then the hotel, but the captain preferred a planned evening on James Packer's super yacht Seahorse. Hussey, it was claimed, boycotted the boat ride in protest, having also just been surprisingly left out of the one-day squad. He was joined by two other players, the email said. The Tonk was made aware of the alleged dispute on Wednesday morning and quickly had it shot down vehemently by Hussey's management and Cricket Australia. There is at least one element of truth to the email, though - Hussey did not join teammates on Packer's vessel. But the way it was told to this column is that was because the team had already celebrated in their SCG dressing room and then their hotel until about 10pm and he wanted to rejoin his family, who were staying with him in a suite at the team's Sydney base. The Tonk was told the others who stayed in the hotel at The Rocks instead of boarding the boat were Shane Watson, who missed the Test because of injury but wanted to be part of Hussey's farewell, and Peter Siddle. Support staff with families present, including Steve Rixon and Dene Hills, also stayed with Hussey in the hotel rather than hitting Sydney Harbour."

-------------------------------------------

As I said, it sounds like a rehash of the Fleas throat-grabbing rumour.

Google links to apparently similar articles in the Age and SMH have no pages attached. Seems certain management teams may have demanded their removal. columbo

It all reeks of Clarke's previous insistence on leaving early to be with jibbering sperm receptacle, Lara Bingle, when he should have been with the team.

Also ... is Clarke's influence instrumental in the promotion of Heazlewood, Henriques, Warner, Hughes, Haddin etc over more deserving non-Dubber candidates?

There might have been some lingering tension anyway considering Hussey kept his cards close to his chest regarding retirement. There are those who think Hussey left Aus up the creek without a paddle.

The Aussies are as prone to a bust up as any other team. They are just fantastic at covering them up.

I like Clarke's captaincy and his batting. Actually, half the time when he addresses the media as well. But, you just know the man is prime cock-cheese. Plenty of people have had a problem with him, which sort of says it all really.

Given that Clarke is skipper and Bailey is V.C., Bob Simpson may be in line for a second recall to take the reins.
