The umpires aren't good enough, very inconsistent with the wides.

Bookie told him one or the other has to suffer. Good at both= no deal.

Amazing that Junaid Khan has recovered for the t20's. Obviously the bookies pay more.

SA are really being taken apart here, they should play their best T20 side against Pakistan next time because this is embarrassing from such a quality cricketing country.

Also, it will be a shame if even after this hiding they rest the likes of Steyn, Morkel and Smith for the ODIs

Gul ends up with figures of 5 for 6(second time in his career)
Near full house at Supersport park given a disappointing match with the exception of the brilliance of M Hafeez and Gul, SA should drop the rubbish players that they picked today and bring back their main players.

Umar Gul 5-6 off 2 and a bit - 6, duck, duck, duck, ... and chew.
Which side's earning the payola here?

Might only be a T20, but 5-6 is more than a fair return. Actually, fark that, it's just a T20.

Gul at times has bowled very well in T20s and ODIs but this was no where near his best performance, it was more a case of excellent fielding and some very poor batting.

The performance of Hafeez should put into perspective what Watto and Shaun Marsh do in T20s. The commentators gush aplenty and seem surprised when they don't carry this form into test cricket.
SA played a shyte team but should be better at the format considering it was what the opted for on Boxing Day.

Yes but we're just shyte atm, you make yourselves so by playing the likes of Ontong and Behardien repeatedly and leaving out the likes of de Kock.

Shall we discuss the selection of Maxwell, Doherty and Henriques here.
Personally I would rather be shit at T20 than tests, but obviously Aussies think differently.

You make a solid point there Red. This was Hafeez's 3rd consecutive half century in T20 cricket and all 3 of them have been top class yet when put up against a great bowler in difficult conditions he wasn't good enough DESPITE being in great batting form. Thankfully for Pakistan he is mentally strong enough to bounce back from the horrible failures in test matches and still make use of his form in easier conditions.Red wrote:The performance of Hafeez should put into perspective what Watto and Shaun Marsh do in T20s. Pakistan has played an excellent cricket in 2nd T20 against South Africa. As a result they won by 95 runs.
