Players you loved when playing but grew to loathe in retirement
Well?
Fred and Vaughan for me. Loved watching them do their thing for England on the field, but since they retired, they've shown themselves to be attention-seeking, fame-craving twats.

Although he was well before my time, I had read of the exploits of Neil Harvey, but was horrified to see what a miserable whinging old qunt he was in retirement.

I'll get in early and say SRT (seeing as he's hobbling along now anyway and basically semi-retired). You just KNOW he's going to be all pro BCCI and used as a poster boy for their thuggery once he retires.

God I hope not. I have Indian friends who know him personally and that's not their reading of his persona. It's hard to know what he can do after his on-field career, though ... he started so early it's hard to imagine him having any other special skills. He may be little more than an advertising man's dream, lending his name and face to products, whilst living a life of luxury. Bjorn Borg 2.0

He'll be involved in coaching or something. I think. Loves the game too much to not be involved in it in some way.
But that's still 10 years away. Atleast.

Ian Healy wins this one for me by the length of the straight.

Personally I'd have Healy in the "*****wit as a player and ****wit in retirement" category.

I loved Healy as a player because he was a gritty fighter. That might have been annoying to the opposition, but it's hard not to like a guy when he tells Ranatunga "You don't get a runner for being an overweight, unfit fat c---."

It's a bit extreme though, innit?
I mean, have you been round to their houses and had the door slammed in your face?
