Bresnan for Finn? FFS! Will they EVER actually look at Bresnan's stats and realise he's completely shit??? Finn- Average in the mid 20s and economy rate under 5. Bresnan- Average in the mid 30s and economy rate over 5. It really should be a no-brainer.

Looks like a T20 final (if there is one at all).

If it isn't, our FTBs are going to be all over this, moustaches twirling, smirks unfurling.
I agree with this !
the ratsy moustaches .. eww yuck.
I don't mind the Merv Hughes or Lech Walesa type walrus beer mouche though.
Hang on, I'm not sure I agree with you agreeing with me.

I'm about 25 miles from Edgbaston and haven't seen a drop of rain this morning.
I think that ground's located in its own little Welsh/Scottish micro-climate.

This 5 minute refresh live web cam from Brimingham doesn't look too promising. The Tetris building seems to be obscured by rain drops.skully wrote:Live webcam from Bleakingham. Looks like a game of Tetris.

Whoa! With every rain drop England's first ever ODI title inches nearer. Get planning the street parties.
Re: England v India, ICCCT Final, Edgbaston, 23 June, 2013
Has anyone ever won an ICC trophy before without beating an Asian team?
Re: England v India, ICCCT Final, Edgbaston, 23 June, 2013
ICC's official reason for not scheduling a reserve day for the final- "England and New Zealand are playing a T20 international on Tuesday therefore there is insufficient time between the reserve day and the T20 game."
Yeah, because heaven forbid they scrap the two completely meaningless, unfathomable T20 games from the schedule!
Good old ICC. You can rely on them to not stay competent for long.

What a cop out.
Unless we get a game, this is my final* (final geddit?) word on the subject.
*: Final in the sense that I could change my mind at any time.

For a second I thought they were going to make us play. But now it's raining again. 40 mins from glory.....
Re: England v India, ICCCT Final, Edgbaston, 23 June, 2013
Terrible decision to wait so long to get on.
Re: England v India, ICCCT Final, Edgbaston, 23 June, 2013
Terrible decision to not plan for the possibility of rain ruining a cricket match in England. They had a reserve day in Sri Lanka, but not in Birmingham??

Yeah, but didn't India bat two times while Sri Lanka none back then? Was also quite farcical.

The ICC seem to love farce. 2002, 2007, and now here. Forecast for tomorrow is ok, as well......

GOt that wrong. Lanka batted twice scoring 244 and 222 while India's innings were stopped at 14 and 38/1Henry wrote:tricycle wrote:Yeah, but didn't India bat two times while Sri Lanka none back then? Was also quite farcical.

Doh. Just as the engraver was about to put our (joint) name on the trophy they're actually going to make us play a game.
So, how are England going to blow this one? The fifth in a series after Boycs and Brears go slow, Gatting's reverse sweep, Miandad's shin and Bradshaw and Browne in the dark. My money's in a Dhoni hat-trick in the final over.

Looked like a couple of drops of rain on the camera lens as Rohit walked back after being bowled by Sturat...

Bresnan a complete waste of space as usual in the shorter form of the game.
