Spare a thought for Woody
Just finished a phone convo with our resident sock jock. Last Tuesday he slipped on a wet path as he was heading to the pub for lunch, landed on his knee and smashed his patella (knee cap) into 5 pieces. Ouchyyyyy!!!!!
On the up side, he is not allowed to bend his leg for 6 weeks, so is house bound from tomorrow for that period. He is currently trying to convince a bevy of pretty RNS nurses to give him a therapeutic hand job.
Nice timing, with the Ashes almost upon us.
Get well slowly, Woody. Back to work in September, I suggest.

Bummer. i broke my Patella a few years ago (and dislocated my knee & detached all the ligaments).
Its no fun.
I recommend an internal alcohol rub.

That will teach him not to leave his sock at home when he wants a pre lunch tug.

Yeah, the shattered pieces and attached muscles and ligaments have all been wired back together, hence the "no movement for 6 weeks" requirement.
For Woody's sake, I hope Aus makes a reasonable account of themselves in the Ashes. Otherwise he might be throwing things at the TV a lot, then have to crawl after the remote.

Gorblimey! Get well soon Wood. Lucky, really, though. He can watch a shitload of the Ashes. I pretty much got to watch the entire '05 live and it was f*cking heaven.

Re: Spare a thought for Woody
Aye, Dan. Sometimes ill-fortune can be well-timed. Was discussing with Woody this evening the only extended break I've had from work. I herniated a neck vertebra in late 1994 and with operation and recuperation was off for 8 weeks - December 94 and January 95. Just happened to coincide with the 94/95 Ashes summer in Aus.
A bit o' pain, a bit o' gain.

Aye, was the grousest of grouse times. Warnie was in his full pomp in that series. A hattrick, his career best innings bowling (8-71 in T1 I2), 27 wkts in the series (he had 20 after the 1st 2), and the flipper was at its deadliest.
I was thinking of falling down the stairs at work to get 7 months compo but then remembered we are facing a 10 test hiding.

Hope it's well worthy the burning of LSL. I really, really, really hope the Aus team doesn't ruin your leave.

Meh, either way it is a few weeks away from the kids with people who love cricket. Going to chuck in a side trip to Gallipoli as well.

Jeez, you must've been a very good boy to be allowed to do that. Enjoy. Sounds like a cracking trip.JGK wrote:Meh, either way it is a few weeks away from the kids with people who love cricket. Going to chuck in a side trip to Gallipoli as well.

I agreed to the house getting a dog.
It was a long term investment on my part.

Meh, they all look the same to me.
Anywho, back to Woody. I expect weekly reports on tissue count, items thrown at TV, pain number, difficulty in shuffling to the can and shitting, strange positions gotten into to do routine tasks, etc, etc.
