All praise to the wonderful Manchester weather for allowing at least ONE game of this series.

Rain again, ay? I see Carberry flopped again (albeit run out). Seems out of his depth. I know Puke Shite is no favorite here, but remind again why he is worse than Carberry?

Well, KP ran him out, or gave him little option but to sacrifice himself for the senior player (who was himself out soon after).
The Pukemeister's had plenty of chances, and never been anything more than bits and pieces, though slightly more use in T20. Carberry has had an impressive county season and deserved a go. Hasn't worked out so far, but often the case for someone who waits forever for an opportunity. Anyway you're comparing an out-and-out opening batsman with an all-rounder who bats somewhere between 3 and 7, it's apples and pears, might as well ask why Trott is keeping Dernbach out of the side for example...

Why IS Trott keeping Dirtbag out of the side?

Bowls a better yorker. Not sure about the batting though...

So it's not some anti-tattoo conspiracy??

An anti-"tattooed, scattergun bowling Yarpie imports with girl's names who most people think are complete twats" conspiracy, perhaps...
It seemed there was a conspiracy to keep him in the side for a while. Even getting worryingly close to the fringes of the Test side at one point. At least it seems to be just T20 at the moment.

T20 is an admirable place to confine arseclowns to. Hopefully Aus has done so with Dave Warner.

I'm a bit astounded they gave Carberry a go ahead of Alex Hales, who is now ranked as the best T20 international batsman in the world, and is nine years younger. Surely they have to give Hales a go in 50 over cricket at some point? Carberry has been unlucky over the years, but his time may well have passed.beamer wrote:Well, KP ran him out, or gave him little option but to sacrifice himself for the senior player (who was himself out soon after).

Well, Hales has had a fairly ordinary county season, though has recaptured some form in the limited overs games that are his speciality recently. His form early on was so poor that he only stayed in the T20I side due to being an established member of that team. I'd like to see him get a go in ODI cricket but it seems they want a different type of player for that.
