Port Qasim Authority vs Pakistan Television, 31-Oct to 3 Nov
Just noticed this little cracker in the box to the right hand side.
Pakistan Television won by 4 wickets. A great achievement until you realised they were playing against Mohammed Sami.
Reminds me of the game in the 70s where Esther Rantzen hit Derek Underwood for three successive sixes.

Of course the Pakistan Television vs BBC Television used to be as famous as the Gentleman vs Players matches back in the day.
Then there was that nasty incident in the 1990s when a then 14 year old Shahid Afridi complained about some rough treatment at the hands of the BBC top order.

I went to see Hel in Niflheim - couldn't really find her. So, I rode for nine nights through valleys so deep and dark that I saw nothing. I crossed the Gjoll bridge until I encountered Modgud. I paid him a 5er and gave him a tip in the 3:30 at Aintree. He told me to follow the Road To Hel by travelling down and to the North. I bounded over the Gates Of Hel on my trusty steed and then... to cut a long story short, Hel gave me a crumpet and sent me on my way with a ruffle of my hair.
I would say 'good times', but it was quite the opposite.
Especially as the crumpet was mouldy.

The crumpet has always been a bit shoddy in the North.

It's quite a damp product and, where I went, it wasn't the most conducive to keeping the crumpets fresh. Suffice to say, I won't volunteer for that expedition again in a hurry.

Surely slightly moist is preferable to dry?

Too moist makes the crumpets go mouldy. It's alright for Hel - she has a knife called Famine.

Too moist makes anything go mouldy. Apart from water.
Or mould.
Or mould.
