That's what test cricket is all about! Great stuff. And what a great example of how captaincy, both good and bad, can influence a game. Misbah was superb, Mathews was awful.

mathews started the rot for lanka with his batting in the 3rd innings. he tried to kill the game and thankfully its all come to naught

And well done Richard Kettleborough for telling the Sri Lankan players to get on with it or he'd award five pentalty runs to Pakistan when they were whingeing to him like little girls about the light.

Misbah has been a real tonic to Pakistan and world cricket. What a great win.

Fantastic chase by the Wackies. I watched it until Pakistan needed about 100 off 20, when I ran out of puff.

With Misbah there and Azhar batting so well, I was confident they'd get home. They never let the RRR get above 6. A really well constructed chase.

The Lankans tried lots of ultra-negative leg-side bowling (surprisingly from very early on), but Azhar in particular manufactured plenty of run-scoring shots.

Great stuff from the enigmas of world cricket.

Yeah, Misbah is especially admirable as a captain

The Taliban were right!  Get behind him... to an extent, they did play very poorly against Zimbabwe.

Would still say he'd abort even an attainable chase unless in such a situation  Dour and defensive captain that he usually is.

Edit- Drawn home series against Sri Lanka, prior to the series that wouldn't have been a great result for Pakistan.
