Chaff and Bailey could do this in blindfolds.

In fact, the likelihood of Pakistan winning is slightly below that of Warney keeping his pecker in his pants for a full hour.

Aus losing a wicket an over, and slowing up.
Have they had a couple of calls from Lahore or Faisalabad?

What a turn-around.
From being dead and almost buried, the Pakistanis pull off, what boils down to, an easy win in the end!

The KP situation is the most obvious demonstration of this but realistically he only had a couple of years left in him anyway - however this and other selections, and displays of faith in those who most agree should be shown the door, show they just want a team of robots and yes men rather than playing exciting, dynamic cricket. That surely won't keep selling tickets for long.Neil D wrote:beamer wrote:At least we didn't get an undeserved win out of it to potentially strengthen their position.
I was going to support Ireland in this but guess I'm now backing the Dutch... of the major nations I'd quite like to see the Snoozers win a global tournament for the first time, they've got the firepower to do so this time though India and Sri Lanka are perhaps favourites in familiar conditions.
It's really strange. I've never felt this sort of apathy towards an England team since I started following cricket in around 1992.
This must be the most unlikeable England setup in living memory. I've watched a lot of drubbings in my time, but I've never cared less than I do now.
It's not good.
Whether many of the younger generation are up to international cricket remains to be seen, it's not looking too promising, but they're not helping them settle with muddled selection policies in all three formats. While it seems nothing positive will come from the current coaching regime, I think they need to follow the rugby route, clear out the senior players, pick a young captain and let a new side develop for a couple of years.
Just on KP, he tweeted this to Michael Vaughan.

“@MichaelVaughan: T20 International all time Batting averages....... pic.twitter.com/UtuJXXE8Nb” why is the geezer at the top not playing? 😃😃
It was a pic of the all time T20 averages. Perhaps surprisingly Duminy was third.
Fark knows where these figures come from.

I doubt he would have been so critical had the shoe been on the other foot. But yeah, keep making those excuses England. Convince each other that everything's fine....
Didn't watch but believe me I would have been off if lightning was anywhere near.

Cakewalk for India, surely they should be going for NRR here? Although they probably just have to beat Bangladesh now, there are three-way tie scenarios.

For once I quite agree with Broad, who I think measured his tones quite fairly. And also I agree with taipan.
He may be the Boy Who Cried Wolf with his previous hot-tempered, exasperated acts ("petulance", if you prefer) - but for the umps to allow play to continue through forking lightning and cracking thunder close to the ground until 5 overs have been completed, and then just the one slog to make sure a result is established, seems a pretty cynical abuse of power to me.

Sturat fined for expressing very genuine concerns over safety. They should go on strike in protest.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Aust's top three are awesome when they all fire.
Warner, Finch, Maxwell.
Watson is hit or miss, as are Bailey, Hodge and Haddin.
Cruising with Maxwell and Finch in control, when they got out, the rest just collapsed like a pack of cards.
Jeez - no boundaries in the final 6 overs, scoring at just 5 rpo - when just 7 overs previously they were topping 12 rpo and bossing the game!
Have to say though that Pak bowled superbly in the final 6 overs to choke Aus into submission.
India cake-walked all over the WIndies.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Pakistan have the bowlers to claw back most situations, how brave a decision was it to give the bowler who went for 30 earlier in the innings the final over though?
India could have won that with 5 overs to spare and could yet pay for that. WI looked a shadow of the side that won this a couple of years ago.

when noshow and funk are Oz's best bats you just know T20 is garbage and that we will lose...my only interest in this tournament is whether the saffies or bannies toss the biggest choke
