Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Q. Did Chandimal drop himself as skipper - or did injury keep him out of the last 3 matches ?

Should've been man of the match. Single handedly won the game for Sri Lanka - chewed up millions of balls, was too fat and slow to run comfortable twos.

Could plainly see Kholi getting really pissed off at t'other end - despite the two being "best mates" !!tricycle wrote:Quite simply a useless c*nt.Dello wrote:tricycle wrote:Rubbish innings by Yuvraj.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Sticking around for 20 balls at a strike rate of 50 for a batsman is more likely to lose a T20 match than being out for a first ball duck.
Will we ever see a player sacrifice his wicket for the team in such a scenario where he can't lay bat on ball and his team has wickets in hand, running himself out or kicking his stumps down for example?

Anyway, England the one team to beat the eventual winners. Moral victory for Gashley's men. Sure he will spin it that way in his interview (if they bother with one).

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Congrats to the Aussie girls for taking out their 3rd successive T20 World Cup.
And well done to the Lankans for finally getting another World title. India's 4-130 target seems weirdly lame. Did the Lankans just bowl way too good for them?? Nice work by the mighty Sanga to guide SL home.

Yeah, well done the Sheilas . . . the Pamelas just wimped out after all their pre-match bruhaha . . .
Lankans bowled very well, espesh the final 4 overs which went for just 19 which included just 1 boundary!
Kula and Malinga bowled full and wide of off stump whilst Kholi looked on . . . t'was the best close-of-innings bowling that I've seen - hence the mere 130 off 20.

I thought Malinga should have been the man of the match, even though he didn't pick up any wickets. His bowling at the death was amazing.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
This is true. I don't care who beats India now - even an England victory over India would seem acceptable.
Mid-90s and into the early 2000s, especially just after those Laxman-Dravid heroics, they were my favourite team after Australia and the Windies. Now I despise them.

Yes, they've comfortably taken the position of my least liked team. Their T20 players are increasingly becoming FIGJAM, their board are a bunch of qunts and their commentators are so fawningly sycophantic that I almost get a nosebleed through a mix of embarrassment, frustration and disbelief.
Was nice to hear the dire mood their commentators were in. Absolute wankers.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Congrats to Sri Lanka.
Useless Yuvraj. Although blame should go to Dhoni too. He's probably the only reason Yuvraj got into the team. Also, if Kohli was English, he'd surely get dropped after his reactions.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup 2014
Glad to see I'm not alone in disliking BanIndia - specifically the team's attitude and that of their Board.
Mostly I loathe the arrogant Kholi, fat-boy Raina and the twat Jadeja. Dhoni has mellowed over the years and is tolerable now... but the rest of them are all bling-clad jerks, always with an eye on the giant TV screens.
So in contrast to the Lankans who were (throughout the tournament) all smiles, jovial amongst themselves, quietly but never overconfident, generous in praise when England beat them . . .
a bunch of really happy guys who deserved their victory.
I used to think Sanga was a qunt - but not since I heard him speak at Lord's one year in the Cowdrey
(I think) Lecture - humble, self critical and fair with an awesome pride in playing for Lanka.
The two things dearest to him were his family and the Lankan fans . . .
... glad he retired with a huge contribution with the bat.
The better team (all round) won - and it was well deserved.
As for the sycophantic BanIndian commentators . . . enough said - all that is, except for Ganguly who did show some restraint when India were under the cosh towards the end.

Only Manjrekar is vaguely reasonable. Shastri, Gavaskar, and increasingly Bhogle are an absolute joke, with laughable conflicts of interest.

To be fair, a guy like Virat Kohli may act like a c*nt a lot of the time, but he's usually the first to walk up to an opposition player and shake his hand after India are beaten or the opposition player has achieved a milestone.
