Some wag suggested waiting to see who Julie Bishop's pick is - she always backs the winner.

I think after the trauma of last year they're taking them away from the track rather than putting them down in front of everyone?

Meh. She won. She can say what she likes. It was a bit of a Jim Richards "you're a pack of arseholes" moment.

News re RC sounds positive

Sounds like RC will stay - prolly at the legends...if not he will prolly go to the legends equivalent at the Curragh.

Agree with ETG re Big Dog obtaining 6*.

The Cop proved a wonderful story...hardly a dry eye in Australia.

Including the guy who cashed out his 4 leg multi for $450 after 3 legs with the final leg being PoP to win the Cup.

A misleading and irrelevant stat it'll be fun annoying the easily annoyed with: One female jockey has won the Cup; 3 have ridden in it. Approximately 100 male jockeys have won at least one Cup; a shitload more than 300 have ridden in it.

Payne is looking to take out a trainers license and under new rules will still be able to ride.

Apparently she wants only a small stable of horses. I expect there may be a few owners looking to send her a few horses when this happens.

I doubt the Taips, Bid Dog and Henry Syndicate will be sending their horse - Grumpy White Bloke - to Michelle

Tragic news.

Young Australian jockey Tim Bell has died in Singapore after a fall from a balcony. He rode a Group One winner over there only a week ago.
