Re: Football World Cup 2014
Yeah, they were dire in the first half. No invention whatsoever. Still, they looked pretty dangerous when it all clicked, both on the wings and through the middle. Algeria couldn't really commit the men forward because Belgium were dangerous on the break.
Re: Football World Cup 2014
Yeah, second half was really good. Could use a pair of proper full backs though. Especially with Pocognoli at the left. Don't think they've any at the right...

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Marcelo turns down the chance to score a last gasp winner at his home world cup in the hope that diving might get him a penalty.
It doesn't, and he is a qunt.

I f*cking hate Brazil this year. I would love it if Cameroon beat them and they didn't go through. Love it.

Nice timing - he's a free agent. Few more games like that and he'll find himself a decent club and a cracking contract.
Re: Football World Cup 2014
Well well well. Any of you Aussies get up for this match? If not you've missed the best goal an Australian has ever (and probably will ever) scored at a world cup.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Seems a bunch of League One standard nonentities are outplaying the team who have just thrashed the World Cup holders 5-1... can't predict anything in this tournament!

Re: Football World Cup 2014
I never picked this one as a stand-out, expected a routine Dutch win, wasn't on my list of matches to rush home for!
Has picked things up again after a couple of days of more forgettable games. Hopefully we won't get a third straight 0-0 in the prime time slot...

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Shame, Aussies deserved a point. Could still go through though if Spain beat Chile, Australia beat Spain and Holland beat Chile.
Beating Spain might be a bit tricky though...

Re: Football World Cup 2014
The chance Australia missed just before the 5th goal was absolutely bizarre. What was he doing crossing the ball? It's like he was playing a computer game and hit the "Cross" button instead of shoot. Same with the other bloke forgetting to press the header button.

Fark it.
If Mark Schwarzer had gone to this WC it could have been a very different story.

A few more Kings of Spain to leave their thrones? Ashley Giles, Juan Carlos... Del Bosque, Xavi and Casillas...

Even a draw would have realistically f*cked Spain. Didn't see this coming though.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
It's almost tradition now, the defending champions not getting out of the group stage - only Brazil in 2006 have avoided falling at the first hurdle this century.
