the sport of Kings, Queens and Morphine
will a certain Betty Windsor be required to supply evidence of bets laid by her household on a horse she owns that returned a positive sample?

in Australia it has been reported that a certain Tasmanian known as Big Dog is raising money for a free Betty campaign

I can't imagine that she is amused by this.

Don't they only ever stick it to the trainers anyway? Who invariably blame bad feed or Bob the stable hand.

They're protected by "privilege". Though she can't be prosecuted anyway.

Believe it or not I believe the logic is you can't have a case of 'the crown v the crown'. I don't think she can be sued or sue either. British law outside a narrow area isn't my strong point.

Given it was a royal horse, did Princess Anne fail a drug test?

Trainer : Sir Michael Stoute .... ouch!
Unheard of for Stout Mick to fiddle with his horses' feed ... and anyhow, HTF did morphine enter the blood system - and why? Morphine, whilst killing pain, also slows down a body's metabolism ... not quite desirable in a racehorse!
