Had forgotten they start at stupid o'clock due to the reduced evening daylight at this time of year... probably better for TV scheduling over here when the Yanks host it!

It is amazing that it garners so much interest in "neutrals". I guess everyone likes to see seppos lose

The european tour is pretty much the perfect time round here. Finishing at around nine. That said, will be at a conference of shitmunchers today and don't have tomorrow off... The singles better be good viewing.skully wrote:beamer wrote:Had forgotten they start at stupid o'clock due to the reduced evening daylight at this time of year... probably better for TV scheduling over here when the Yanks host it!

Hopefully, it will be Dougie Donnelly leading the commentary and not the dross from sky sports.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
Not the one with the golf channel, that's a local operator. Satellite tv provider doesn't realise that golf is a sport... That, and 3g reception is shit. So mainly going to be text updates and watching it all through the night

Sergio & Rory manage to halve their match by winning the 17th & 18th. Good stuff!

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
Only took 35 hoes for the Garcia McIlroy partnership to come to life. Garcia still not beaten twice in a day. Stunning putt by McIlroy on 17 and Garcia's approach on 18...
Looking good for a 2 point lead for Europe.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
The Yanks farked up by not playing Spieth/Reed after their impressive morning session performance. Won't be good for team morale either that Tom Watson went back on a supposed promise to pick some of the second session on first session form. Instead they gave a 44-year-old Mickelson back to back rounds and he ran out of steam.
The Rory/Sergio rescue act was a real momentum changer and the USA have to win the first session tomorrow to avoid having a mountain to climb.

Yeah ... but not after they played some sh*t golf for the previous 34 holes together.
Lucky ....
They really were pretty poor in the morning (bearing in mind they're 1 and 3 in the world rankings) and they were
bloody awful for most of the afternoon - till McIlroy's 40 yard putt on the 17th and Garcia's 210 yard 3 wood out of the
jungle-rough on the 18th. Two distinctive shots over 36 holes ... poor effort overall IMO.
Having said that ... the seppos were, for the most part, bloody awful too.
Playing Mikleodeon and Bradders twice in the same day was a cock-up by Watson ... no doubt.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
Fowler's chip in from the bunker a real momentum changer, from possibly going three down they could be level within a couple of holes, and setting things up for the Americans to win the session.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
Incredible performance from Rose and Stenson, the fact they only won 3&2 shows only that their opponents also played pretty well. A struggling opposing pair could have faced a "dog licence" or worse against those two.
Otherwise the momentum with the Yanks though, need something from Rory and Poulter to prevent it going all square after three sessions.
