All too late but.
One never knows, there has only ever been one team in with a chance of winning. To be honest we don't deserve to though.

Was more of a "you're a qunt but I guess I'd better see your eyes to make sure they're not rolled back " kind of look. And not one fielder came up to him.
Qunts

What a bunch of shallow qunts.
Hells Bells Trev, that's all a bit unnecessary, isn't it??
Your hatred of all things Aus is bordering on irrational Red-esque hatred of SAf.

well, for a perfect finish, we need one more wicket in the next 14 overs, then 3 in the last over

Then have Coaly say "only one team was playing cricket out there" at the presser?

What is the consensus....Was Smiths late declaration an error of judgement or was he more concerned with not losing than winning?
...i'm thinking the latter.

Perhaps a bit of both. Nothing wrong with trying to make the game safe by setting a huge target but having Marsh simply potter around like he did ate up unnecessary overs and really stymied any chance he had of winning. Let's face it, they have yet to take twenty wickets so we could have taken some risks and been left with more overs in which to bowl them out. There was never any danger of chasing the runs down.

The trophy seems to be a bit of a hometown affair these days.
Skully it wasn't only the missed chances, we didn't allow ourselves enough overs.

Of course. Why would you outplay a side for 2 and seven eighths Tests then give them a chance to get back in the series? I'd rather a tense search for wickets than a worrying "why did we declare so early?"

Red, I have patiently "listened" to you repeat yourself all day. I heard you the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.....15th time. FFS, STFU.

Two things- Australia's decision to bat on this morning looks incredibly negative, and why the hell would they shake hands with four overs to go, considering India has three number 11's??
If I was Smith, with India six down I wouldn't be shaking hands until there are three balls left in the final over.

Certainly one wicket could lead to three but Dhoni and Ashwin looked anchored down. The bowlers were tiring too and Lyon looked impotent on this track.

I know but questions were continually posed. Still think I was much closer to the mark with the observation that we needed to declare early and could have pushed for a win rather than worry about eating overs up to secure a draw.
