They didn't present too many problems for the saffies who didn't even require the services of their talisman

I see Woakes is also astutely talking up England's chances against Australia.
Could be right. Oz has many erratic technique free dills who are due to fail with the bat.
Aside from Danny, there has been notable silence from FB English folk about their triumph against the Windies...

Looks like the Bannies are doing a number on the 'Ghans although there are a couple of conspicuous failures there.
Re: World Cup 2015
The Jocks are putting up a credible show against the Micks. 296/6 after their 50 overs.

Fox 503 is fantastic ATM. Wall to wall cricket!!!
Just had Thommo being interviewed by Crash Craddock (has this been on before?). What a farkin legend Thommo was and is. I feel privileged to have seen him live and on TV in his absolute prime, cartwheeling stumps back many metres at the SCG.

Fox have the 99 final on at the moment. Just watched TGM give Ijaz a working over before bowling him. After all these years it is still a privilege to watch.

Unfortunate that this kicks off on Valentine's Day. What were they thinking. Likely to reduce the TV audience by 50% in Aus what with us guys with gfs and wives being obliged to do stuff like dinner and silly soppy movies and stuff other than watching World Cup cricket.

Our bowlers can't even bowl out Afghanistan, we have no chance of getting out of the group stage. Looks like Pakistan will finally get a win over us in the world cup on Sunday.

Or you could look at it this way- chances of getting laid doing dinner and soppy movies with the gfs/ wives, compared to chance of getting laid watching world cup cricket most likely by yourself or at best a few other swinging dicks.
Unless you're gay, in which case carry on.

Aye, I was just shaking my head and thinking "how grouse was our side from 1994 to 2007?" Big Pidg was near unplayable, and the difference in the fielding was stark. MEW & Punter taking screamers (not to mention the ground fielding) while fat Inzi took a sitter and sooked off (very slowly) with a sore hand.

poms voted on an time best jamodi xi
4 Oz included but no Punter..oddly they selected Bung Lee (with TGM, tgm and gilly)...maybe the poms still dont take baths and are unduly impressed by a bloke who made a career out of drinking his own bath water.

Re: World Cup 2015
In an XI of:
SRT
Crystal
ABdV
>>SRT
Viv
Fat Jack
Gilly
Wasim
Bung
TGM
tgm
....they'd frankly (IMHO) be better to open with Gilly instead of Crystal and play a finisher like Bevo or Paris at no. 7. Let's face it, with that batting line up, 7 would rarely get a hit. And I agree re: Punter's omission, but it's hard to argue for any of the others to be omitted. Perhaps play ABdV as the finisher and add Punter at 3? And I'd bat Viv at 4. Possibly also have Stain for Bung.

Chris Gayle in all time ODI team
Jayasuriya was a better dasher. Dhoni, for all his faults, is pretty much the best finisher around.

Agree on both counts, t, but if Gilly is being selected then that's why Dhoni maybe misses out (hard to squeeze two keepers in). ABdV is so versatile, he'd do a great job finishing. Gilly made 99% of his ODI runs opening, so picking him at 7 is weird.
