Re: Retirement age
So the latest rumour is that the company is moving even further away from my residence. As I already spend 2 hours a day in the car, this might be a move too far.

Re: Retirement age
So I see I have been meditating on this for 3 years. Time passes quick when you are having fun. Anyway I have decided that June next year is the ABF and possibly sooner if any more shit comes down the tubes.

I will not be betting against that. Since my birthday in Demeber it has been accelerating in my head.

That's why I asked my butler to place an ad in the local dailies for a chauffeur. You should try it.

Re: Retirement age
I assume Nigel has fully provided for the superannuation and eventual retirement of his servants. That's the Downton Abbey way of course.

I will hit 3 years retired on July 1. Haven't been bored or miserable (other than about qunt politicians fiddling with Super rules) for a single minute.

There's always bowls clubs. But seriously did it feel good playing Willie Nelson?

When Taips finally pulls the plug, maybe he, skully and BD can do a "My Retirement Rules" TV show where a grumpy retired white guy on a Harley takes other grumpy retired white guys on a tour of their local food, wine and golfing region to compare which one is better.

Grumpy is just a persona I adopt here sometimes. I get out of bed everyday with a smile on my face and a spring in my step.
And I wish I could do golfing tours, but the old back has other ideas.

Re: Retirement age
Geez, I played over-35 soccer for 4 years. I ended up in goals because no-one else wanted to do it. I ended up with more injuries in my final year (at 40) than I'd ever experienced in any sports. Busted rib, dislocated finger, jarred cervical spine after being kicked in the head diving onto a ball (luckily I have a thick skull!!), pulled groin, pulled hammy. I retired after that!!!
