Time to quickly end that experiment... credit to Cook for trying it, though. Could easily have tempted one of their big guns into playing a stupid shot.

Placing an insurance bet has made this far less stressful.
Is it me or are heads already dropping? They shouldn't be, Australia are doing well but they still have a long long way to go.

Drilling us now. I'm beginning to wonder.
Re: England v Australia, 1st Test, Cardiff, 8-12 July, 2015
Possibly, but still a long way to go. Couple of wickets and we are well on top. Takes one ball to possibly start something.Henry wrote:Well.

You blokes - way too anxious. England remain well on top. If this goes on for another 3 hours without a wicket, you MIGHT then just have cause for concern.

How the f*ck is hitting leg stump full in the face an umpires call? Would have been criminal if that hadn't been given and we lost a review for it.

At the very least teams shouldn't lose a review if it's an umpire's call.

I thought it had to be a less than half ball projected contact to be umpire's call... that was hitting leg full in the face. Did they just mess up the graphics, or does it now have to be at least clipping middle to be definitive?Henry wrote:vilkrang wrote:How the f*ck is hitting leg stump full in the face an umpires call? Exactly. In fact fark not losing a review, if it's hitting leg full in the face it's out, not umpires call. That would have been a f*cking disgrace if he had gotten away with that.beamer wrote:I thought it had to be a less than half ball projected contact to be umpire's call... that was hitting leg full in the face. Yeah, it's hard enough already to get an lbw overturned when it's given not out on the field... has to be an absolute Ashocker, Howell Howler or Tiffining to qualify.

It wasn't full in the face, 55% of the ball was on the outside of the stump

Bedtime for me. Congratulations, England - one up.

Would have liked to see whether the previous ball that they nearly reviewed was out or not. Not reviewing got us a wicket next ball as it's unlikely he would have bowled a wicket taking elivery if it was off the back of an unsuccessful review.
In the bag now I think, even if they get a couple of parterships they should fall well short. Brilliant performance from England, did not know they had it in them.
They just had some predictor device that said we are 84% to win the game. More like 94% I think.

Would take something out of this world to win from here and I don't think Australia have the batsmen to do it.
