Aye, he's still alive in the books, along with his bodyguard, Stannis, Shireen, Osha, Barristan, various dire wolves and some other guy whose name I can't remember.
Hold the Door? Three Eyed Crow?

Mrs Stannis, Mrs Ned, Mrs Roose. Mycelia, Roose,
Almost enough for a spin off series.

S06E06. Tend to agree with Mr Dog.
- Spoiler:
- Meera and Bran are saved from the pursuing white walkers by Benjen Stark. He confirms that Bran (who says he's not ready) is the new 3-eyed Raven.
Sam and Gilly get a very cold reception from old man Tarly. So much so that Sam steals his dad's Valryian steel sword and scarpers with Gilly and son.
A Lannister/Tryell army is ready to take down the High Sparrow and guardians to save Margaery from the Walk of Atonement, but Tommen defuses the whole thing by uniting Crown and Church.
Tommen banishes Jaime to look after Riverrun, which has been taken by Blackfish. Old man Tully also has the shits that Blackfish has moved in, and demands it be retaken.
Arya backs out of poisoning the actress, and knows this will have the Waif after her. So she recovers Needle for her defence.
Daeny reconnects with her Dragon Drogon, and impresses the shit out the Dothraki by flying in on his back. She gets their commitment to acquiring 1000 ships to sail to Westeros to take over the 7 Kingdoms.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
- Spoiler:
- Thinking about Arya, she's not really connected to the rest of the story in any way. Imagine if Arya just dies now. Will be the most pointless 8 seasons any character has spent on a show.
If she dies now (realistically there's no way she would survive being stabbed multiple times by a trained assassin as she wouldn't miss the vital organs, she'd be trained to hit them but lets give them a bit of poetic licence and say it's possible no vital organs were hit) she may as well have not been in the show.
I don't think they will kill her off but if they do and if it's GRRM's idea then he really doesn't have a clue about how to satisfyingly conclude a narrative and it doesn't bode well for the end of the story.
She'll probably survive though due to the reasons outlined above, if she didn't then I could honestly recommend anyone giving it a watch from the start to skip every scene that she is in and the story won't suffer or even be affected in the least.

Its just a flesh wound.
Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
S06E07 - a picturesque episode.
- Spoiler:
- Nice to see the Hound back.
Margaery is clearly taking the piss out of the High Sparrow.
Jon, Sansa and Davo's recruiting didn't go too well.
Loved Olenna sticking it deluxe to Cersei, but alas, the evil younger bitch will probably have the last laugh.
Blackfish ain't gonna hand back Riverrun easily. And nice to see Bronn again.
The tits and bum show in Volantis was cool, and I chuckled at Yara's promise to "fark the tits of this one". And let's hope the real Theon is returning.
And I expect Arya to make a full recovery from her stabbing.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
- Spoiler:
- Shame that McShane only lasted one episode, great actor and haven't seen him in much since his brilliantly dastardly turn in Deadwood.
There's a theory that Arya is the waif and it's a Tyler Durden scenario and that the scenes where the waif is chatting to Jaqen alone is actually just Arya chatting to him in "waif" personality". Think that would be a bit shit, but it doesn't make sense that the waif didn't kill off Arya instantly with a stab to the heart seeing as she is a trained assassin and there are also questions about why no one seemed arsed about helping a little girl who had been stabbed and also there's that scene where we see Arya fighting with the stick and nobody is actually there.
There's definitely something weird going on and I don't think it will be as simple as a botched assassination attempt (assuming Arya doesn't die which as I've said would be the shittest character arc of all time).
Great to see the Hound back and also great to see that he didn't stay as a non violent pussy for long, only took him one episode to seemingly get back to his good old violent ways (loved the scene of him picking up the axe in anger).

S06E08.
- Spoiler:
- Arya is patched up by Lady Crane, only to be hunted by the Waif. But she uses the skills she learned when blind to take off the hunter's face in a darkened room and stick it on Jaqen's wall. She tells him she's Arya Stark and she's going home. He seems to smirk approval.
Tommen rules that trial by combat is illegal, taking Cersei's Mountain out of the equation to save her. She puts all her faith in a "rumour" that Qyburn has heard. The Interweb suggests it's to do with a secret stash of Wildfire. Maybe Kings Landing is about to be torched to facilitate Cersei's escape.
The siege at Riverrun ends in a whimper after Jaime convinces Edmure to order the surrender of his castle. Blackfish is killed in the aftermath, and Brienne and Pod head north.
The Hound takes revenge on the rouge Brotherhood chaps who killed the villagers, dispatching them with meaty axe blows. It appears he may be convinced to join Beric Dondarrion.
In Meereen, the slavemasters attack the city from an armada of ships, catapulting fire at the city. But with a dragon thump on the pyramid roof, Daeny strides in to surely save the day.

S06E09. Aye Dan, frikkin epic!!!!
- Spoiler:
- Daeny's dragons save Meereen with her riding on Drogon. Epic!!
Yara and Theon pledge their allegiance and fleet to Daeny for the return of the Iron Islands. Epic!!
Ramsay taunts Snow by cutting down Rickon just as he is about to save him. Epic (but sad)!!!
Ramsay has Jon Snow's forces done like a dinner in the battle for Winterfell (what a scene!!!), but then Sansa shows with Baelish and the Knights of the Vale to save the day. Epic!!!!
Snow, Tormund and the Giant, and the remaining good guys take Winterfell and Snow beats the living bejezus out of Ramsay (until Sansa gives him a "leave him to me" stare). Ferkin epic!!!!
Sansa releases the hounds (starved for 7 days by Ramsay so he can let them feast on Snow's men) on Ramsay, and they rip him to shreds. Sansa walks away smirking. Therapeutically epic!!!

One of the best episodes ever, but then episode 9 seems to always be the stand out of a season.
