So 77" OLED should be OK?
Well yes, I rather imagined the renos would've included a cinema room.

Always the loser.

Have to say, that was my immediate thought as well.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
I think episode 3 needed a bigger TV (or cinema screen...) but this was more satisfying on the whole.
So, contenders for the final seat on the throne? Dany, Jon, Sansa, Arya, Tyrion (last Lannister), Gendry (last Baratheon)? Any other curveballs, assuming Cersei and Jaime are history?

This season has been rather predictable. I'll go with Jon after someone (maybe Jon himself) offs Daeny.

Yes, i think Daeny has sealed her own fate after turning into her father.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
Read an interesting article yesty which talked about the opening exchange between Varys and the little girl.
- Spoiler:
- The conversation was:
Varys: “Nothing?”
Girl: “She won’t eat.”
Varys: “We’ll try again at supper.”
Girl: “I think they’re watching me.”
Varys: “Who?”
Girl: “Her soldiers.”
Varys: “Of course they are. That’s their job. What have I told you, Martha?”
Girl: “The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.”
Varys: “Go on. They’ll be missing you in the kitchen.”
This seems to have been an assassination (via poison) attempt by Varys on Daeny.

Yeah, they mentioned that on Thronecast, didn’t pick up on it at the time.

Anyone powerful enough to matter in Westeros who ate food they didn't personally forage and/or kill and prepare themselves deserves to die because they're too stupid to live.

Neither did I, mainly because of some mumbled dialogue.

Well imagine what it's like for anyone born into one of these great families. You're in the school playground eating your lunch alone as per normal and wondering if you smell awful or are just plain ugly and the headmaster gently explains there's nothing wrong with you but the other boys don't want to be collateral damage when someone or something with the moniker of the hound or the mountain or someone who's business card reads CEO Gruesome Noble Offings are us goes all WMD on your ass.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
S08E06 – Series Finale.
I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. But I guess all the loose ends were tied up, and all the battles fought.
- Spoiler:
- Tyrion walks through what’s left of the Kings Landing castle and sees Jaime’s hand so he starts to uncover the rubble and he confirms both Cersei and Jaime are dead.
Jon tries to stop Grey Worm and his men executing Lannister Soldiers but fail.
Daeny giving a speech thanking her soldiers for defeating Kings Landing, and the new goal is freeing the rest of the world. Daeny tells Tyrion he committed treason in freeing his brother. Tyrion tells her that she killed thousands of innocent people, and throws his Hand pin away. Daeny sends him to prison.
Jon goes to see her, and she is sitting on the Iron Throne alone, and Jon tells her that she needs to stop being a crazy bitch. She tells Jon that she’s doing it for the people. Jon pretends to understand and they embrace and kiss. But then he stabs and kills her. Drogon comes and is standing over her body, and he melts the Iron throne and carries her away.
Grey Worm has Tyrion and Jon as his prisoners. The Council (members: Samwell Tarly the Grand Maester, Davos Seaworth Master of ships, Bronn Master of Coin and High Garden, Brienne (not sure) Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Yara Greyjoy Lord of Iron Islands, Robin Arryn Lord of Kingdom of the Mountain and the Vale, Gendry Baratheon Lord of Storm’s End, Yohn Royce Lord of Runestone), led by Sansa, tells Grey Worm to release Jon back to them, but he refuses. Tyrion says that the new King or Queen should decide what happens to Jon. Sam suggests a democratic vote for the new King. Everyone laughs, then Tyrion suggests that a man with all the history and stories of Westeros and the 7 Kingdoms should be King. He nominates Bran. The council votes and decide Bran should be the King. Bran picks Tyrion as his hand. Sansa declines to be part of the 7 Kingdoms, with the North remaining an independent state.
Tyrion tells Jon that his punishment is going back to the wall and join the Knights Watch. Grey Worm accepts Jon's punishment. He doesn’t bend the knee and leaves with his troops and Dothraki on ships to go free slave cities.
There's an amusing scene where Tyrion leads the King's Council. There is much haggling over whether Bronn should release funds for brothels, or ships!!
Jon says goodbye to Sansa and Arya. Arya tells them she isn’t going back home. She’s going to explore whatever is west of Westeros because that’s where no one has been.
Ep ends with a closing montage of Arya on a ship, Sansa ruling Winterfell and Jon reuniting with Tormund and Ghost, and leading the Wild and Free folk north of the Wall.
I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. But I guess all the loose ends were tied up, and all the battles fought.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
Thought it was a pretty good finale on the whole... managed to tread the fine line between Hollywood and Shakespeare! All the character resolutions were quite fitting, and the post-credits gimmicky twist I feared didn’t materialise.
GoT might be over but I’m sure Westeros will live on, in the manner of Star Wars, Marvel, LotR etc.

Apparently a prequel pilot is currently being filmed.
Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
Worst series of the lot. Jon’s sole role this season seems to have been to send Dany mad and eventually kill her.

HBO's Chernobyl made up for the absolute shower of shit that the last series of GoT was. Worth watching.

GoT is coming to the West End/Broadway stage, with a prequel story. George R.R. Martin is involved, but unless Chris Martin is as well (not the cricketer!) it won’t be as good as this:
