So 7 wickets between Spivs and hosting the final, and 249 runs (hosting) or less than 7 wickets (away Final) for the Viles. Very interesting final day (pre-Final) of the Shield season. Such a great competition.

Agreed. Just hope our blokes tough it out and don't disgrace the comp.

Your blokes had to carry a Marsh. The Vix have no such excuse.

A couple of very fine Oz FC careers ended yesterday ... Hopes (who did at least represent Australia at ODI level) and Hogan (perennially overlooked for higher honours).
I suppose Hogan may yet join MacMuffin in a twilight run on the County circuit.

Chips really need Hartley to hang on.
Wonder if Cowan, MYTYT and Quiney will cash in their chips.
Cozzy might go too. Tho he would eat the chips.

Quiney and The Walrus (remember how JC used to go on and on and on about how Cosgrove should have been chosen for Tests?) should probably move on.

Viles 5-73 at Lunch. ShyT and God-botherer in the way of the Spivs. 53 runs in the session would indicate that survival is the sole aim of the Vomits. And it would be enough to secure an away Final for them.

They won't be able to hold out, blocking, for two sessions on a pitch which is occasionally keeping low (see all the lbw and bowled dismissals). Vic's only real hope is to win; they need to get a wriggle on.
Who gets into the final if there's a tie?

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2015/16 (II)
The Viles are 2nd so a tie would put them through.
The God-botherer has picked this game for his one decent effort of the season. He took 5-40 in the Spivs' 2nd innings to restrict the lead to a gettable 269. Now he's batting well.

This points system may be a bit convoluted but it has led to an exciting finish to the season.
