Something very few from this country deny is that we have a history of racism. We acknowledge it & are working on its elimination. The chops at Ramps stem from "so why is he making this an issue now?" kind of thinking.

obviously this was something the poor chap was burdened with all along. I think being racially abused is a permanent psychological scar. Even if he is stating this now and not before, it still implies that a part of him remembers the abuse.
