Trevor Bayliss is an overrated coach- Discuss

Well?

What's he actually done apart from preside over the complete and utter failure of our "long" batting lineup? Vince, Ballance, Hales, and Duckett have all bombed disastrously on Bayliss's watch. On-tour selections (of which Bayliss has a big say) have been a bit of a shambles as well. Do we have ANY idea what our best side is? Do our batsmen have ANY idea what approach they should be taking to the crease? One one hand, Bayliss seems to want attack, attack, attack, yet on the other hand, England's batsmen are being told they should get their heads down and grind out scores. No wonder they're confused.....

I'd like to suggest that Bayliss actually ain't all that crash-hot as a coach.

He is nowhere near the class of Allister Coetzee.

What happens if England win the next two tests?

Can we safely disregard this thread? I'll jump on the bandwagon if England go 4-0 down without a whimper.

Well he is from dubberland, so what would you expect.

Some coaches may have been a bad influence -I Doubt TB is one of those.

I remember he was one of many Pom quicks tried against our batting juggernaut in the late 90s.

Perhaps unsurprising they went English, but I suspect with no international coaching experience he’s likely to be another Moores. Hopefully we won’t get a bunch of overpromoted Chav dobbers in the side.

I’d have split the role between Tests and white ball formats and picked specialists with relevant track records for each.

He’s in the King of Spain’s back pocket. Nasser rates him.
