India v England, 5th Test, Chennai, 16-20 December, 2016
England will be hoping that the cyclone makes this game unplayable, or at least unwinnable.

Aye. A 3 zip shellacking and 2 draws would give the Pomgolians a moral victory to

Perhaps we should play your boys to find out who really is the worst in sub-continental conditions.

I think that will be settled over the next 6 months or so in any case ... we will be calibrated against the same opposition.

Yeah, England haven't lost 3-0 against a struggling Sri Lankan side. I'm expecting this one sided winter to continue when Australia tour.Basil wrote:horace wrote:Maybe the Pomgolians will contemplate Cricxit

It's a shame that more and more series (and mostly convincing series wins) are already decided by the host nation. Gets dull when it's so repetitive, almost as bad as top clubs' football. I guess that at least India are now fantastic at home....

Said in jest but I wouldn't at all mind a Test calendar where two sides meet on neutral ground. Aus/ Eng in the subcontinent, India/Pakistan in Australia or England, Australia/ NZ in West Indies and so on. Would be find to have even a fifth of all Tests like that.
The effigies would be the same, though.

I really don't understand the lack of warm-up games between tests.
Is it to fit in JAMODI's or is because Christmas is coming?

Jamodi's
The series here with NZ drew small crowds and low ratings. Channel Nein is cranky. Interesting in the run up to tv rights negotiations. The Babel will be a ratings bonanza for 10.
With McNamara gone, if nein stay in the business they will be desperate for the Tower and Tests. Jamodis look like steak knives. If successful, expect blood in the nein commentary box. Those to remain are easier to count than the dead and dying. Only Clarke, TGM Tubby and Chappelli may survive. The last because of a lifetime contract.

So if Ten gets the Tests, we would finally be rid of that obnoxious unflushable turd?
Go Ten.

IND v PAK could fill grounds in Edgbaston, Headingley, OT and probably the Whateveritisnow Oval. Plus, you'd have the added challenge of the "slight monsoon". Might help to bring on both sides' military-medium nippy dibbly-dobblers. Instead of all those rotten spinners you keep turning out in the Subcontinent.
South Africa could meet West Indies in Liberia, perhaps.
And on recent form, I'd stage AUS v ENG at the South Pole. Until they got their flaming acts and techniques together, that is.
