David Bowie should have been 70 today.

We have now been without him for nearly a year.

Me too, lards.

Do you know, there's a lot of bad feeling over here that his nomination for a New Year honour was ignored, yet we have Posh Spice OBE and Sir Andrew of Murray, and the usual rewards for political donors, cronies and general arse-kissers ...... not to mention civil servants ennobled simply for doing their bloody job (and not always that well either).

Very poor. I'm surprised he hasn't been honoured in this way before, not 'just' because of his efforts in the war, but for his profile over the last ten - twenty years in particular, as he and his last few surviving comrades have kept the sort in the public eye.

Absolute farking legends, all of them - the survivors and those who died on the night and on subsequent missions.

From TMZ...

"Charles Manson is finally strong enough to undergo a surgery that will repair a lesion in his intestines that has caused significant bleeding ... TMZ has learned. ... Manson was rushed almost a week ago from Corcoran State Prison to a hospital in Bakersfield, CA for an operation."

Dennis had Mr Manson as a houseguest for some time. Cost him a few hundred K without even counting the coke, but he got a crappy song out of it. Manson tried to sue him ... he was lucky Manson didn't come after him a year later.
