I was living in Darwin during the trial and passed the law courts every day as they were near my school. It was the biggest thing to hit Darwin since Tracy.

Hehehe. I think that school was about the only building left standing after the Japs did a number on the place. Maybe I'm wrong about God.

St Mary’s is Darwin’s oldest primary school and the only school within the Darwin CBD. Bound by Lindsay, Cavanagh, Smith and McLachlan Streets, the school is situated adjacent to St Mary’s Cathedral and was established in 1908 and until 2002 was run by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Originally the school was called St Joseph’s. It survived the Darwin bombings of WWII although it was shaken badly when a bomb fell beside it. The school was closed down during WWII from 1942 until 1945. In 1967 the school was rebuilt and renamed St Mary’s Primary School. After Cyclone Tracy, St Mary’s was the only Catholic primary school to function in Darwin during 1975.
I sort of went there by default as it was just about the only primary school in town when I was 5.

RIP Buddy Greco
A couple of days ago I was watching a documentary about Marilyn Monroe's death & Buddy Greco appeared on it. Apparently, Marilyn had gone to one of his shows in the days leading to her death & created a "scene'. She kept screaming out asking why people were staring at her & they replied "err ....... because you're Marilyn Monroe".

Will try next week. Busy for once in my life.... That and the fact that one of my bankable choices for 2017 decided to die in December last year.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXVII/The Death Thread 2017
Former England manager Graham Taylor has died at the age of 72.
During his club management career, he led Watford and Aston Villa to the runners-up spot in the old First Division.
He also took Watford to the 1984 FA Cup final, where his side were beaten by Everton at Wembley.
Taylor was appointed England boss in 1990 but resigned in 1993 after the team's failure to qualify for the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
A family statement said: "With the greatest sadness, we have to announce that Graham passed away at his home early this morning of a suspected heart attack.
"The family are devastated by this sudden and totally unexpected loss."
