Renshaw was concussed in the warm-up, may not be fit for the GF.

Like Failey
Young Rogers looks heir apparent to Fork.
Seems a real talent.

Good thing it's not pre 94-95, or some cynical bastards might wonder if the QCA reported Wrench sick with the final coming up to keep the bloody nuisance Oz selectors minding their own business,,,,,

Comprehensive win.
Farquity has clearly improved since his Richmond days.
Should be an interesting Final.

So Banjos v Two-heads in the big one.
Well done to both teams. I expect the road builders will be out at AB.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Good guys will play Banjos for the Shield. VIC will just pip WA for third. Dubbers will avoid the wooden spoon, which S.A. will inherit from the good guys.
Coaching plaudits must go to Griffith who has pulled the good guys out of the gutter.
Rookies of the season must be Tom Rogers, Gabe Bell, Nick Winter, and perhaps Matt Kelly + Josh Inglis.
Quiet achiever awards would go to Tremain, Boland, Rainbird, Bird, Copeland, Neser, and Feldman. Doran of Tassie and both Hemphrey and La Mighty Boosh of QLD have also had impressive years.
Dud of the year would be Maddinson, who wins the Les Joslin - Jock Irvine award for almost disappearing within a year of first national selection, with Nevill and Lehmann also disappointing when challenged to step up. Former Test player Doolan turned up once with all other efforts pretty woeful.
Retirement is looming for White, Cooper, and perhaps Bailey if Tassie win the Shield.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Yep. I think MYTYT will call it quits. He had another season and Hope he goes into coaching or administration. He's a thoughtful clever bloke.
Expect Sids will pull the pin as well as Christensen from the Vix.
Think Donkey, Stain and lil' Boof will have better seasons next year. I hope Puck is fit to resume a promising career
Pretty much agree with Lardy assessments. Thought Boland was a bit disappointing.
Qld's Wilderbeeste was again promising.
As well as Madman some others who's want better seasons are Dues and KP2 from the Spivs who at different times would have been argued for by Kjnr at NSP meetings. Maxwell finished the season on a meh, but I guess he will always remain an all duck or no dinner cricketer.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Sids was talking that he hoped for an Ashes tour last I heard
Wildermuth is impressive ...hope he gets time in the Shield to develop his game properly
Dozen reckoned the vomits were the best shield team this year
Sabotaged by the dead G wickets before Christmas prepared by the billy curator who scarpered back to the Gabba (Conspiracy theory)

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Averaged around 40 for the year, worse than I had realised, so he may well join Bollinger in retirement. Could still play ODIs for another year or two.

not as bad, considering he did four-fifths of f*ck all in the first half of the season.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
He has been a great servant of the game. Time to retire.
He achieved far more than his talent would have dictated.
He's smart and knows his game. This will help him make a few bucks in T20 comps. Am sure we all wish him well whatever he decides.
Ptomaine is a worthy successor to the Sids yeoman role. Next year Op will return and will only be selected in domestic comps and there a few good quicks coming through. Mark will become a depth quick, having dropped in penetration this year.
With the move to the Junction Oval, the Vix should have a better year.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Sids rediscovered some form playing for the Strikers
without bothering to look at stats I'll say he was far better after the BaBeL in the Shield
In one of Cowan's retirement interviews he said that last season (when he was shield player of the year) he thought he might get the openers role for the Ashes series and that was his main motivation for scoring a shitload of runs
When that plug was pulled this season he lost motivation and had an ordinary season
I think if Sids is looking at an Ashes tour he will play again and be a very good bowler ....
he'll retire if he gets word he wont be going to Pomgolia ....and with the NSP communication record with vomits that wont happen

Wasn't he coming back from injury? Collided with a bag of carrots or something?

He's been more Peter Sod-all than Siddle lately. He's been a fine contributor over many years but he's cooked - esp with Patto coming back.
