Re: Rugby League 2018
There's a brilliant "egg on your face" emoji but I can't zap it here.
I spose anything can happen in finals footy but that was unbelievable. If Hunt can do that even every second week they could go all the way next year.

They would still need to win consecutive knock out games to win.

Indeed. With Widdop out, Hunt needs to have blinders every week.

Terrible game management by Hunt. It wasn't the first time he went missing in the game. His kicking game was awful.
That was definitely one that got away last night.

Still, we were seriously running out of cattle. We may have been fodder for a rested R00ters.
Kudos to Jack de Belin for playing through the pain. Even Tariq Sims needled up after limping off, in an effort to get back on. No lack of commitment, just lack of game management.

I thought the "rule" for the shoulder charge was designed so players don't line someone up and split them up the middle?

Good effort from the stories. Great to see the sneer wiped from Gallen's dial. Pity Bec Wilson never to see that prick leave the game.

Rock-like R00ters defence repells the Bunnies.
Hard to see Cronk making the GF with his busted shoulder. Remarkably he played the whole 2nd half with a limp arm, after getting smashed in the last tackle of the 1st half.
Bellamy will already be strategising about isolated Cronk and hurting him in defence.

Cronk and Slater missing the GF probably evens things out.

Foxy reporting that scans have revealed Cronk's left shoulder rotator cuff is "severely" damaged.
Keary's organisational and kicking skills may now be pivotal. He went OK in the 2nd half last night.

This was a question I wanted to put to you, WW, jgk and ???.
It was a side on bump. I thought nothing to see here. However the NRL has the R00ters as thNRL fairy tale, so I expect s by suspension.

Slater will get off. Shouldn't have even been charged. He clearly touches Feke with his hand first.

Re: Rugby League 2018
Funnily enough, Slater admitted after the game that he knew a tackle wouldn't work so had to use a shoulder.
Gus reckons he has seen plenty of other fullback on winger tackle like that this year. Whereas others are saying a shoulder charge is a shoulder charge so ban him - if you start picking and choosing then the charge will creep back into the game.
Personally I thought it was a great defensive play, but if the Sharkie player had've been concussed then it would be a different matter.

Re: Rugby League 2018
The offience is (my emphasis):
“where a defender does not use, or attempt to use, his arms (including his hands) to tackle or otherwise take hold of the opposing player and the contact is forceful. It will be considered misconduct, if any player affects a tackle in the manner as defined.”
Now check out the front on image:

Re: Rugby League 2018
A single frame out of contest means nothing. This is the rear shot of the same moment - which looks like a clear shoulder charge...
Still, it sounds like the Storm are mounting a strong defence. I reckon he'll be cleared, probably on the "attempt to use the hands in the tackle" grounds.
