Ireland v Pakistan, Only Test, Dublin, 11-15 May, 2018
Surely deserves a thread... first new Test nation to debut since 2000. Like Zimbabwe in 1992, and South Africa on their return from isolation the same year, they are likely to field ten debutants...
Effectively a warm-up for Pakistan ahead of the series in England, will they end up with egg on their faces in swing bowling friendly conditions, or teach the newcomers a harsh lesson? Or will the Irish weather be the only winner?

As interested as I've been for any match recently. Quite a few players likely to play their first and last test.
Don't think it's being telecast in India, but guerilla cricket has the radio rights for this match.
Also, these were decent reads

Could Boyd Rankin be a one-Test wonder for two different countries?
He will be the 15th player to play Test cricket for two countries, all of the previous ones played more than once for at least one of their teams.

The Irish weather is always the winner.
Should be a cracking good match. Wish I was there.

Yet another reason to kneecap Rupe the Dupe.
am considering cancelling my dementing mum's Foxy subscription. They have interminable IPL but will not invest in Test cricket

Sky are telecasting live AFAIK. Hoping there's at least a legal stream around.

Worked out perfectly, in the end. Match starts in the weekend, and Ireland win the toss and bowl. And a clear day at Malahide apparently

Eventful first ball! Didn’t realise the Irish had called up Brian O’Driscoll and Jonny Sexton

Like uncle, like nephew... Pakistan doing their best to make sure Ireland’s first ever Test wicket is a run out.

Shame on Sky for shoving this historic event behind the red button after half an hour in favour of ShitePL.

Geez I would have lost money if someone had bet me that Ed Joyce didn't play at least one Test for England.

One slow medium seamer too many in this attack. Could've gone for Simi Singh or Dockrell.

Yeah I was thinking he had as well... played a fair few JAMODIs in blue though. Did well in the triangular SODIT at the end of the first whitewash tour, then was shit at the subsequent World Cup and was left to re-qualify for his homeland.JGK wrote:Geez I would have lost money if someone had bet me that Ed Joyce didn't play at least one Test for England.
