That, too, so we deserved some luck at last - especially as the rugby bosses are about to step in and "fix" South African rugby.embee wrote:mynah wrote:Same way Saffie cricketers are allergic to semifinals?embee wrote:Wallabies are allergic to Jonny Wilkinson ...

Re: Egg Chasing World Cup 2007 Thread
I saw the crziest scenes in my life on Sept 12th this year. A few days after Scotland's Rugby team won their first group match comfortably, their soccer team was in town for a Euro qualifer against the French.
There were 20 000 Scots in their Kilts drinking, and singing under the Eiffel Tower that day. The Military and the Riot police had to be called in to move them on.
A wave of blue on a sunny Paris day was a remarkable sight. Certainly moreso than the sight of a huge rugby ball with ''100% Pure New Zealand" on it sitting a mere hundred yards from the base of the tower anyway.

If you're linking to that picture showing Cueto's foot apparently on the line, Mynah - it doesn't actually prove anything, for the same reason that low down catches in cricket always look like they're grounded. From the side angle, Cueto's foot is never grounded at all.
But - and this is key - it's irrelevant. It was a nightmare decision to have to give, one way or the other. I can promise you England rugby fans just accepted the decision and moved straight on. Rugby fans (apart from Kiwis) don't whinge about these things. Decision made, no problem.

Aye, and overall, on the day, the better team won.
End of.
As a post script, the last 20 minutes of the match was totally dominated by SAF's more disciplined and determined play and never once during that time, in contrast to England's QF and SF games', was it apparent that they would score and take the game away from the South Africans.
