As I was saying, it's cause I'm the lone Glam fan. If it was someone like Notts or Yorkshire, he'd have a detritus on his hands.

OK, have a look at the huge volume of abuse I've directed at Slurrey down the years.

Re: Glamorgan should fall out of Div 2
Surrey don't have a bowling attack that can be considered "first-class" by an stretch of the imagination- and still they've bizarrely finished above Middlesex & Glamorgan. Depressing indeed.
I honestly think the ECB & Wales should part company. Wales should be an international side because as ropey as Glamorgan are they would be as competitive in ODIs & 2020s as Ireland, Bangladesh & Zimbabwe. I'm sure a fair number of antipodeans would find some Welsh ancestry as well if the international carrot was dangled.
Middlesex & Surrey need a tremendous kick up the backside- I'd slash ECB funding to them (the 'rey especially only spend the money on luring big names from other counties rather than develop their own). 7 million people live in the greater London area and they can barely find one decent London cricketer between them. P*ss poor.

Sorry EEE, but which division did you finish above us in? The only important form of FC Cricket is the four day stuff and we were above Slurrey in that.
Get with the times, man.

You're a bit touchy of late, smerky. Tom was praising Glamorgan, the way I read it. Let them become the WCB, and most of their first team will become internationals overnight.

It is surprising, given the huge number of world class players they have churned out in decades past. The last really good one was probably Thorpe and he first played for England in '93.

I thought it such a gentle (and obvious) stir that no-one would take it seriously. The proposed Yorks/Lancs merger: outrageous; merging Middlesex and Surrey (local rivalries): bound to inflame; and the Northants/Derby suggestion was a transparent Danny wind-up, which he has treated with the contempt it deserved.

Well Glamorgan/Ireland is a logical merger.

Knew it was a red herring, but nevertheless it shouldn't ever be mentioned even in jocularity.
Re: Glamorgan should fall out of Div 2
What about Northants, Beds and Berks?
Monty could be a home boy then.

What? We get the 'cream' of Beds anyway and Cambs, Hunts. Berks would be more Middx.
Furthermore, Monty's done and dusted at Norths - surely you don't think we can afford to pay his contract, now he's no longer ECB?
Plus the fact he's been pants.
Graeme White is a bit of a twat by all accounts: "Football is my game... I can't bare to watch cricket - I can hardly stand playing the game."
Tom Brett it is then.
Re: Glamorgan should fall out of Div 2
Monty might wanna consider coming to Glamorgan. We've got a ravaging turner down in here in the 'Diff. He might get a few wickets.

I thought the Berks could go with the Hunts.

Sorry I just assumed Glamorgan finished bottom, when they actually finished mid-table with two whole wins. I don't know what Rob L's on about- they're obviously a very accomplished first class outfit.
Leicestershire on the other hand...what happened there?

Not much. I've been saying so for years, except that together they have one test player between them (Strauss) so it wouldn't make much odds in the short term.
