Sri Lanka v Australia, 1st Test, Galle, 29 June - 3 July, 2022
Aus has just started a 6 week tour of the tear drop isle.
After a plethora of clown cricket (the first is tonight) we get a couple of Tests in Galle.
Will Purple come back into the XI or do we go with 2 spinners as per our last Test in Pakistan. I'm guessing the wicket will be a bunsen.

Didn’t realise this was scheduled, and thought political issues might have made it a non-starter. Do they have security of food and fuel to get around?

England-NZ 3rd Test counts as dross? Or is McCullum-ball classed as JAMODI in your eyes?lardbucket wrote:Still more than a week away.

In the A game, SL are 9/330 at stumps on D.1.The spinners were expensive and ineffective. Steketee took 4 but was also a touch expensive. Young Hardie must have bowled tightly, while Scot the Blot was typically cheap and picked up four wickets.

Our efforts v spin in the Clown Cricket don't augur well for the Tests.
You can guarantee bunsens in the Test series, and we don't do well against decent spin in Lanka.

They’re a pretty poor Test side these days though, who should be beatable even at home.

I'd play Maxwell ...his brainfade is likely to take longer than Marsh's hard hands (and/or brain fade)

What happened to “we’re too good to need an all-rounder” Australia? (Yeah, I know, you had Gilchrist… and even Gillespie was useful for the odd double century!)

I am reliably informed that NoShow has not played red ball cricket since 2019.
He won't know what the cherry looks like.

The coaches should say what ours presumably did to Bairstow earlier this year… “just pretend the ball’s white and smack it all round the ground”.skully wrote:I am reliably informed that NoShow has not played red ball cricket since 2019.

Your source is well informed.
He and Finch should not get a Shield game nowadays.
Maxwell's selection would have driven the late, great Big Dog to despair. On that basis I prefer selection of Mere.
