Re: India v Australia, 2nd Test, Delhi, 17-21 February, 2023
From Wikipedia population stats it does appear there’s very low Hindu populations in Norway and Germany (presumably similar pattern elsewhere on the continent). Obviously more in the UK (largely driven by historic empire links) including our current PM… though still lower numbers than Muslims who I guess have migrated from a larger number of countries including a number of war-torn ones.lardbucket wrote:... really?
Why more Pakistani or at least Islamic names than Hindi / Hindu, though? Are migration patterns to Norway and Germany so biased numerically towards Pakistani and Arabic > Indian, or are there other reasons?

Was also good to see the skipper bat like he's got the no 8 gig on merit rather than pulling of rank, as best I can remember for the first time since before he became captain

263 and done
Handy (boom! boom!) tail-end runs, 40 from last two wickets. A good innings. He looks like somebody, recent politico, can't put a name to him yet.

Don’t you have to possess a brain to be concussed?

Better effort from the tail this time (added 100 for the last 5 wickets compared to 15 from the same position in T1 I1).
Still, if Ooze hadn't have chucked it away with his ridiculous premeditated reverse sweep, we might have gone past 300.
Jesus I hate that idiot shot.

Good point. But there's always a way round such technicalities.
Just before the first Test of Ashes 1970-71, Illy was keen for batting practice for a few middle-order bats, but one Geoffrey Boycott Esq, 124 red at tea day 4, wasn't having a bar of it. Ray ordered him to retire,, Geoffrey refused and said he wasn't even allowed to retire because he wasn't injured.. Illy dropped him on the spot with a straight right and said 'you are now. Get your sodding pads off!'

Really??
It'd be hella grouse if Wrench opens in I2 and makes runs.
Doesn't concussion protocol rule the concussed out for the next Test as well. Wrench runs plus that could spell the end of the Grub's Test career.

I missed much of the last session last night. Did our bowlers elicit any scares?

The three bowled well. Special K was pretty good. NoHit was given out off Lyon but unforch the review showed no bat. Cummins bowled well.
NoHit looked solid and Rahul a bit less so.

Head doing well in the Despicable Dave role - the arrangement already looks worth continuing in tests 3 & 4

In Australia’s favour at the moment. I think a lead of 200 will be enough
