A successful chase will ensure that Australia makes the final.

Doubtless legendary Packer mouthpiece Chris Forsyth would take strong issue, but the last hour was magnificent Test cricket - all three wickets and 23 runs of it. I dared not miss a ball.

Out of town with no Foxy, so will just have to have the fingers crossed as I rely on Cricnfo.

Well Australia will either have the record for the lowest unsuccessful run chase, or have a rare win on the sub continent.

Same - and I’m stuck in conference. Will have to restrain volume and profanity of curses as I follow it

India could still miss it with a 2-2 result, and Sri Lanka beating NZ 2-0

Just sit yourself with some Bannie buddies. Their hooting and hollering will drown out your "FFS"s and "FMD"s.

And quite a few messages on Dickinfo from Bannie followers said just that. I can't believe they are genuinely nervous about missing the Final.

Comfortable in the end. Well played Australia. Not sure about Cummins the captain. Pretty sure about India the batsmen.

Wow, with no Fox I decided to try the 2 hour cone of silence. It worked!!!
Looks like Travis Head played a cracking innings. Will now savour the Cricinfo commentary.
Go Boys.

I was expecting something very embarrassing today.
So, that was a pleasant surprise!

Geez, that 1st 10 overs must've been tense for Aus fans. 1-13, but then Head lashed a zak over mid-on. He and Marnus added the required last 63 in just 8.5 overs.

Well played Australia.
India needs to take a call on Kohli.

The SL series is in Snoozonia, if they were at home you’d back them…skully wrote:Blackadder wrote:beamer wrote:Will a successful Aussie chase ensure the two meet again in England this summer?

Think I’d back Aus over Ind (and definitely over SL…) in early-season English conditions, anyway. Even if the Oval’s typically more spin-friendly than most of the English grounds, and I don’t remember ever seeing a May/June Test there before as it’s usually the season-closer.

A grand result … and improbable at the end.
Ashwin cracked in the end. His behaviour was unsportsmanlike.
