Disappointed again with Smith. If you insist on crabbing and ceding momentum you must make a decent score. He hasn't. No effort to take singles tho admittedly Uzi ain't great at that.

Wank was the only Aus bat dismissed by a decent ball.
Head threw it away, and Marnus & Smudge both had no feet movement brain fades.
Still, if you hadve offered me 4-253 at start of play, I would have said thank you.

Snot 49 overnight.
Agree re Smith. If he"d been batting with Head or Green his innings would have been the valuable 'sheet anchor' - except he wasn"t, that was the other guy's gig. Is this Batting Responsibly groove he's in part of his quest to get the C-in-brackets back?

Terrific from Uzi and fully deserved ton. Green batted beautifully. Sneaky Pete got bowled by a cracker when batting well . The other dismissals were crap shots.

He has now passed Martyn and Hughes on the Australian all-time Test run-scoring list. Redpath and Simpson are just 300 runs away (Ashes tour, probably); beyond that he is up with Lawry and Walters ...
A very decent career!

That's great! A maiden century to Cameron Green & it has been a quality knock.
It's been an important innings for Green & for Australia, both for this test & into the future.

Deary me. A strangle ends the big stand, then Carey plays an awful shot.

WTF was Carey thinking, or was he thinking at all?

If India shows that the pitch is relatively benign, we could be set for a draw, but Australia has batted its way into a position of comfort.

Todd for the first time showing he's not a complete Murphy with the bat....either that or if a rookie spinner with bad eyesight can survive on this pitch, the Virat Kohli's of this world should have a field day.

India have incentive to play for the draw, given both series win and WTC are on the line. Surely even Stokes and McCullum wouldn’t try anything (too) reckless in this scenario!

Recklessness is certainly not on show.

Steven, that was a rubbish review in the best traditions of Tim Paine. And you had to be practically wrestled to the ground to stop you sending the last one upstairs, then threw the I'm-a-little-teapot when Carey stood his ground (and that one wasn't out either). Lift your game son, or you'll drift back into Seasick Steve mode and that would be the head-honcho-ship gawn forever.

Game just drifting along on one of the Indian flatties often provided when they have the series ascendancy.

Cricket’s version of Mourinho’s “parking the bus”. Though wasn’t it one of the Aussie greats who said “there are no flat pitches, only flat bowlers”?

So India should take the lead around Tea time. How much of a lead can they snaffle, and will they have enough time to attack Aus on the last day?
