Is Bavuma fit?
He did not bat ... so essentially, in the first test, South Africa beat India by an innings, with only ten men ...

Bavuma injured his hammy
Coetzee has injured his groin
Saffies have named a squad of Nevilles to play Tests in Snoozyland as it clashes with their T20 comp

Saffies and India (IPL) hastening the death of Test Cricket.

Hard to see the Saffies following up on their performance in T1, unfortunately. India could not possibly play as badly, and SA cricket seems to have descended into total T20-focused farce shortly after the last Test was concluded.

Saffies win the toss and bat. Much depends on Elgar, who has also announced his retirement after this match.

5-34. Siraj tearing them a new arsehole.
My allegiance has swapped. Let the Bannies flog the weak-as-piss Saffies for sending C sides on tours.

LOL, Yarps are 6-45 and Siraj has 5-15.
In the good ol' days, this was when taipan would go missing.

AO 55.
Only Verreynne (15) and Bedingham (12) made double figures. Siraj took the figures with 6-15 off 9.

Exactly. Nigel made it his business to run away when the Yarps struggled.

I hate them both, for different reasons.
At this stage I’m hoping India make 1000 and win by an innings and 800, with the series finishing 1-1 and the Indians dining out on a moral victory until they next tour (having still never won in South Africa).

Amazing collapse by India. They reached 4/153 & then lost 6/0 off 11 balls.
All out 153, a lead of 98.

Greenish pitch with some bounce and good seam movement.
Lots of hang the bat out dismissals. Siraj pitched it up and made the most of the seam movement.

A day when somehow being 55 all out isn't the biggest meme around...
But 23 wickets on day 1 is a shambolic pitch. Test cricket around the world has tilted too far in favour of bowlers in the past half decade.
