And big scorers in T1 de Silva at the wicket and Kamindu Mendis still to come.
If those two dine out again, the Bangers might be facing 700.

Karunaratne has quietly ascended the all time ranks. Well over 6K runs now at an average of over 40 … not many openers in the modern era have matched that output or consistency.

Biggest ever score without a ton by Sri Lanka. Their 531 beat the previous record of 9-524 by India v NZ at Kanpur in 1976-77.
De Silva (76) and Mendis (92*) continued their stellar series with the bat

Looks like a follow-on and innings victory to S/L.

Lanka well on top despite not enforcing F/O.
De Silva and Mendis failed at last.
Can't see the Bangers threatening a 500+ chase, even though the Lanka attack probably wouldn't give too much trouble to most Test top 6s.

Bangers are 4-132, 379 adrift halfway through Day 4.
Looks like a 250+ run victory for the Lankans.

Wally's jesting post about "that should be good for a couple of hundred posts" about this thread is even further off than I thought it would be. This is the 8th post in the thread.
Meanwhile the Bangers have got the loss under 250 runs with 3 wkts in hand at the end of the 4th day.
Typical of the Bangers, everyone has made double figures (well, I guess that's not typical), but no-one has gone on.

... they may lose by less than 200 runs.
A moral victory, some would claim.

A creditable 318 in the 4th innings by the Bangers, but still 192 short.
