Not long for the Ganjas to regroup.
It'd be nice if they can make a Test last more than 3 days.

Hopefully they’re now ‘acclimatised’. The batting looks very weak though. Lots of young players; the rebuild looks long and painful.

Starts soon, England sans Jimmeh.

It’s possibly the right time to note the new WI opener, Mik Louis FFS.

All out on day 1 … for 416.
I hope the Windies batsmen find the pitch just as easy to bat on.

Windies got away with this 1, daft decision to put england in in such beaut conditions, but apparently motty is sick so they lack a proper spinner although sinclar did well, but if he celebrates like that everytime, hes gonna get inj. windies seamers were wayward, but root, brook stokes smith all got out ala bazball. Too soft. Entertaining but poor strategy. Windies dropped pope at least 2x, and others as well, otherwise england might not have got past 300.

Interesting matchup, if windies get any sort of a lead they could cause an upset here. Root dropped hodge off wood on 16. bad miss. Wood was clocked at 97mph [156kph?], but rarely aimed at the stumps.

Welly, well, well. Some Ganjas heart at last, lead by Hodge and Athanaze (185 stand). Well done to Hodge on his 120.
If Holder and de Silva can push on we can have a competitive Test with multiple possible outcomes.

Crocinfo described it as a deflected straight drive by Duckett via the bowler Seales’ hand onto the non-striker’s stumps, with Crawley out of his ground. Unlucky but not that unusual.

Re: England v West Indies, 2nd Test, Trent Bridge, 18-24 July, 2024
Another very entertaining day with england bowling well at first under typically cloudy skys then the usual bazball barrage which shamal and JDS smashed all round the ground. However having taken the lead and hold of the match with creepys unlucky dismissal the windians proceeded to spray the ball either side of the wicket like they did on the 1st morning. Their best session was after they got the ball changed and took 2 wkts and gave Brook a severe working over [he'll have more than a few bruises tomorrow], before they unwisely changed the ball again [for the 7th time in the match!]. But a few quick wkts tomorrow and the game could be back with them.

So advantage England with 2 days to go. Unless the Ganjas can crash through the rest of England's batting - which seems very unlikely.

Disappointing lapse into mediocrity by the Gangas.

Jesus, the Ganjas are already on the boat back to the Caribbean, with a Test to play.
What a God awful 2nd innings effort (AO 143), particularly against straight-breaker Bashir, who they gifted 5 to.
Brooks then Root ripped the spirit out of the Windies with 100s, then the tall Bashir went to work.
Well done England on the series win.

Another collapse by windies another win for england. At 60-0 i think most were expecting an exciting last day but we had 1400 runs and 40 wkts in 4 days so certainly much better entertainment than Lords. But Hodge should have reviewed or his partner should have told him to; i didnt see a replay but it looked too high and going down leg.
Apparently this was the first time england made 400+ in both innings, proof that our batting has always been pretty ropey.

Darn good bowling by Bashir. Apart from his first wicket with a longhop, be bowled well with a decent amount of revs. He's a work in progress to be sure, but the signs are positive.
