India v New Zealand, 1st Test, Bengaluru, 16-20 October, 2024
After their poor tour of Lanka, the signs aren't great for the Sheep in India.
Cricinfo reports that there has been a lot of inclement weather in Bengaluru of late. Not great news for this Test.

They’re under way, India batting first.
No Gill, Williamson, or Santner.

… and Kohli goes for a duck. Conditions must be very difficult as there have also been several play-and-miss by J and a couple of good lbw shouts.

That’s unfortunate. Pant’s dropped by Blundell - a sitter.

We all followed the lowest live as it happened, and I was at the scene of the crime the day before the second lowest.
Am I chronically immature for still finding the Jasprit Jackhammer bowling action so amusing after 8 years of watching him?

The second lowest … I remember one of the very few batting highlights was Solkar hitting a massive 6; overall that was a lamentable effort.

That was a lamentable series for India from go to whoa. Tony Greig batted twice, for a ton here and just over 50 in the first Test, and finished sixth or seventh in the batting averages. In the third Test a couple of weeks later, England lost two wickets and won again by an innings, on the same day that Jimmy Connors did a similar job on Ken Rosewall in the Wimbers final.

One England batsman who missed that gravy train, by his own deliberate fault, was His Geoffreyship, who flounced after Test 1 and watched David Lloyd who was not even the best batsman in his County team (a mid-range outfit at best) take his spot and maul India for 260 for once out.
India did Oz the massive favor of making a few mediocre Test players look like world-beaters leading into Ashes 74-75.

The heinous sweep and reverse sweep continues to cause dramas. Duckett gone to Sajid for a duck. Not a great start for Blighty.

Are we sure it happened? or is it fake news? Surprised that neither Bumrah and Siraj managed to take a wkt just a few hours later.

Even koly got out at the very end, if india bat all day tomorrw they could still win this. sarfraz, going well with Rahul, Pant, Ashwin Jadega all test centurions to come in, but now i've said this, probably they wont.
