OMG, this has to be one of the worst misuse of stats I have ever seen.

Far too advanced and obscure for him I think. Thats taken someone a long time to sift through and find!
Actually i admire their commitment to the cause!

Was wondering if there were any T20 runs, or maybe beach cricket, that can be added in.

A made up record if ever there was one. It doesn't take into account DGB's runs for NSW "Australian XIs" against touring England teams.

Re: Tendulkar breaks Bradman's record!!!!
Not surprising though is it ?
For several Indians their entire life reolves around Tendulkar as can be evidenced with some of the forumming here.
Every cricketing thread be it about batting or bowling or fielding or Captaincy or fitness or whatever else will be turned into some kind of Tendulkar glorification. When Tendulkar was going through the doldrums in the last few years in tests there still used to be some statis paraded on this forum to show that everything is the same. I recall one thread in particular, that was at the time when Tendulkar was having several single digit test innings before he scored heavily with some big hundreds against Bangladesh. A thread gets raised titled somethig like "Watch out Opponents if you let Tendulkar cross 60 then his average is 150 ++ "...
A lot of these twisted stats and several of these thread Hijacks are nothing more than some fans wanting some periodic reassurance driven by their very narrow alignments.

Re: Tendulkar breaks Bradman's record!!!!
The stats in the ^article are true, but they're not the reason he's great. They'll come in handy when doing trivia.
Stats are not the reason Tendulkar is great. The forummers here are intelligent enough to go beyond just stats and skewed stats. But if only everyone would do that ... (incidentally, highlighting negative stats to suit one's own agenda would also seem like a perverted way of using stats, but that's just my opinion I guess ...)

So why the almost constant need for Indians to come up with obscure stats to "prove" their payers' greatness? Just the result of a huge inferiority complex, I guess.

Raw nerve stuff, but there is validity to that "tac" claim . During the colonial era, basically everything Indian from traditional Ayurveda to Yoga were either banned or belittled. For official recognition the "white man" had to stamp it. That mentality has carried on for several decades, kind of passed on from parents to Children for one or two generations post independence.
Thankfully with the up an coming youth of India who are born in a free Country with an increasing economic and internatinal stature this does not appear to be as important.

That 'Indian belittles Indian' is indeed true.

That is because a fair few cannot get over their regional, ethnic or caste based roots and identify themselves with this larger entity namely "India".HH_pink wrote:That 'Indian belittles Indian' is indeed true.

I would say it is even more so the closer one gets to such a non-national-identity based grouping. For example, 'Tamil belittles Tamil'. It's got more to do with your reason based on colonial society - that anything 'Indian' is bound to be wrong and anything foriegn is bound to be better. Some see it as a strength (eg. openness, tolerance) and others as weakness.

I would be wary of the future of the nation being in the hands of the extreme rabid types populating most Indian news portal message boards (rediff, etc.) though. They're so full of crap it's downright nauseating.

Indeed, Pinky. But most countries have a fair share of dickheads who inhabit the demi-world of message boards, where they can enjoy abusing people in anonymity.
