Re: English county season 2008 (II)
Jonah is actually starting to put some matches together, and is taking wickets as well. I'm not allowing myself to get excited just yet, though.

Yeah, noticed his 2 5-fers in the paper.
The dream of a cardiff Ashes 2009 appearance is still alive!
Ok, maybe not then...

Jonah's first spell today was mightily impressive - quick, accurate and threatening. The remaining spells were not quite as quick, and like the rest of our bowlers he decided that leg side pies were the way to go!

He needs to get a move up the order for Sussex.

Farking hell. I thought Godleman was supposed to be good? Waste of space so far this season.

Why does a Ramps century feel inevitable when he's only on 25?

Just can't believe Niall O'Brien... he's been batting like a total machine this season. Ridiculous compared to last year. Improved beyond all recognition. Mental. Currently opening and scored 78 of 87 in a CC match. Impressive, even if it is Glamorgan.

Kent doing well. I was thinking that Tresco and Langer would be getting 150+ against us.

Good signings, the epitomy of all that is wrong with county cricket though IMO.

Just the one? Or does the amount correlate to how many runs he makes?

Is it my imagination, or does James Foster score more ducks than just about anyone other than Chris Martin?
It's only the odd double-hundred that keeps his average respectable.

He's done a lot of running today so he will need quite a few.

To be fair he was a pretty consistent run scorer for us, aside from the last 12-18 months when he hasn't done fudge all...
85-6... we must've started to doctor the Chelmsford road

173 off 151 balls for old Jambo. What a ledge eh? Oh yeah. Bit of a nob-cheese for getting out tonking just before close - but then, that's DJG for you. What? Ledge. Yeah.

Aye, for all the mickey-taking about the medium pacers, he's now averaging 61.5 at a strike rate of 74 this season. Not the worst, for FC stuff. White with a run-a-ball 85 too. It's just a hunch but I reckon the pitch is good for batting on!
