Re: Boris Gaffe Thread
I guess Victoria is similar to Queensland. We only need a roadworthy certificate when we purchase the vehicle & origally register it in our name. There is no requirement for an annual RWC. If police suspect that a vehicle is no longer roadworthy, they will order it to be inspected. I think the system might be different in NSW.

When I owned a car in NSW, many years ago, you needed a RW certificate to get rego each time . . .

I think that might still be the case. I know someone who lives just south of Tweed Heads & I think he needs an RWC for annual registration.

Merls, I don't particularly have a political alignment.
p.s. Yeah, I'm going as one of the dudes from Flock Of Seagulls.

Well, who knows... I usually don't remember a few hours of the night if I get f*cked enough, anything could be happening in that time.

How many more imaginary Boris gaffes need to come yet Rob to make up
for Ken's cheek kissing and hugging of known pro Bin Laden Muslim clerics
who openly espoused the 7/7 bombings ...
or the insulting of a jewish reporter whilst negating the after effects of the
Holocaust...
or indeed, this peach ... handing over (unaccounted) £2 Mill
of public funds to his mate to fund a so-called charity in Lewisham ... and when, abra-cadabra ...
the dosh disappeared, implementing his Mayoral powers in refusing to hold an investigation
nor having the police intervene .....
However, I do personally believe that Boris ought to be docked 3 penalty points and have his Raleigh impounded indefinitely for the heinous crime of jumping 3 traffic lights ...
Apparently, Ken's in much demand:
Ken Livingstone has already made £100,000 in bookings for a series of lucrative speeches two weeks after he was voted out of City Hall.
The former Mayor is going on the black-tie dinner circuit where he is charging £10,000 for a 45-minute speech.
According to Speakers For Business, interest in him is sky-high and he is being hired at a rate of around one booking a day. Appearances at 10 business events are already confirmed, earning £100,000. ...... .. Mr Livingstone is "the country's most in-demand speaker" and are touting him as an expert in leadership, business and politics.

PMSL.
Oh well, as no publisher seems to want to entertain looking over his Memoirs right now (not joined up hand writing, and also there are too many political kiss-n-tell's on the shelf at the moment - all rabid Socialists and all seeking their "I'm against poverty" millions ... Cherrie "I took contraceptives to Balmoral" Blair; Lord "Gimmedemoney and I give you a Knighthood" Levy and John "I'm a bulimic so pity me and gimme a third Jag" Prescott ) ... I suppose our Kenny's got to do something to bring in some legitimate dosh now that the Mayoral money-tree is no longer accessible to him!
£10K for a 45 minute pop.
More money than sense with some of these punters!

Livinstone was a fully paid up member of the PC mafia. If somehow he could have planted a diversity copper inside all of our heads he would have done so. Boris is bumbling and eccentric and will certainly f**k up. But he is not a control freak and he is not malevolent. Small mercies.

You could say that he and Boris have swapped jobs.
At least Boris will be working for a living, now.

And he only wants to work it for two terms, wants legislation in place so that no one person can stand for three terms as Mayor of London.

As far as I know, only in dubberland and the Territory do you need a RWC for renewal of rego.WideWally wrote:I guess Victoria is similar to Queensland. I should take a leaf out of your book and carry on about your ignorance and inaccuracies, but it really isn't worth it. Just remember - the rest of the world does not operate the same way as dubberland. Fortunately.

"My confidence in Ray was shaken by the discovery that he is not a fully fledged Justice of the Peace."
So in other words, you didn't check the Deputy Mayor's CV properly, Boris.
