Re: House
Latest epi was pretty damn good.
- Spoiler:
- House gets to meet Cuddy's Mum - played by Candice Bergen. Starts off rocky but it seems he may have found a kindred spirit.

Re: House
I think so. I "got" it nearly 2 weeks ago (epi S07E09 - Larger than Life) but hadn't had time to watch it until yesterday. It's got some real belly laughs in it.
- Spoiler:
- The clash between House and young Masters continues as they try to diagnose the symptoms of Shaggy from the Scooby Doo Movies. Taub is chosen as the face of Princeton‑Plainsboro in an ad campaign, which puts a few noses out of joint (mostly Chase's). Taub is getting more sex than he can handle from his wife and discovers that it's because she's really happy courtesy of her online relationship with "Phil". Taub ends up asking for a divorce because he can't handle it.
Cuddy demands that House attends her place for her birthday dinner, where her mother will be (House had met her earlier when she showed up for a clinical with House). Wilson is also there. The dinner party is a hilarious scene. House is terrified of her but in the end thinks she might not be so bad afterall.

Re: House
Latest from the States was a pretty grouse epi. S07E16 - Out of the Chute.
- Spoiler:
- House goes on a post-breakup-with-Cuddy bender of prostitutes and wild behaviour at a 5-Star Hotel. In the meantime his team deal with a rodeo star that had a momentary blackout that allowed the bull that he had just successively ridden to charge and stomp him. Lots of nashing of teeth from the team but the case is eventually solved remotely from the Hotel by the brilliant House - for once not an end of epi epiphany. Some cute moments as Masters finds herself falling for the hillbilly redneck rodeo dude.
The epi concentrates more on House's mental state in the wake of his breakup. Wilson is very worried and does all he can to get House to seek help, as he seems irrational and is back on the Vicoden. Wilson even begs Cuddy to take House back. The epi ends with an excellent scene where House (in slow motion to a haunting song) gets up on the railing of his 8th floor Hotel Room balcony and looks like he's gonna commit suicide, when all he was doing was seeking a massive rush, by jumping into the pool. Wilson just walks away shaking his head, as House parties like a frat boy with a bunch of celebrating football (or something) fans. Classic House.

Aye, Ponts. The writers certainly stepped up. Kudos to them, although there has still been the odd formulaic episode.

Re: House
Wow, I've been away for a long time and this thread is still going. I don't think anything in this place has changed.
I'm not sure how I feel about this season. I've hated the House/Cuddy relationship purely because I hate Cuddy. Did she think that House was going to change into a wonderful human being, just because she wanted it? Stoopid. I'm liking most of the storylines so far. I hope now that House/Cuddy is over, they'll go back to focussing more on the patients and medical storylines. I love Taub and Foreman living together. I even like the new chick, most of the time. Wilson needs to stop involving himself in the House/Cuddy tragedy.

Re: House
Have to disagree. Focussing on patients and medical mysteries is what made it boring.
By developing the characters more it made it interesting.
But I agree, I hate Cuddy.

Re: House
This season has been hit and miss. I'm not sure if the epi that skully has raved about earlier in this thread has been on in Aust yet but hopefully not. This weeks one (with the realtor who lost his job) was pretty mediocre to be honest.

It was S07E13 - Two Stories. The TV.com short recap....
And it was the ep before the realtor epi.
- Spoiler:
- After House traumatizes a fifth-grade class with explicit medical stories during Career Day, he's sent to the principal's office and two students offer him relationship advice.

Re: House
S07E18 – The Dig – Extra grouse with some hot 13 on the side.
- Spoiler:
- Great to see 13 again and she looks hotter than ever. Episode starts with House waiting outside a jail, waiting to pick up....13. She’s been gone a year and in jail for the past 6 months of it. House’s alibi to the team is that he’s taking 3 days off to go to a spud-gun tournament, one that he has come 2nd at for the past 4 years. He spends most of the episode trying to get to the bottom of 13’s crime. Turns out she euthanized her brother who had advanced Huntington’s (which 13 also has) but pleaded down to the crime of over prescribing meds (because she used gloves while administering the IV so they couldn’t prove she pushed the plunger) and got 6 months.
Meanwhile, the team has a case of a hoarder that is coughing up blood. They are desperate to solve the case quickly so they can skive off while House is away. After doing the normal break in to the patient’s home, they find that he is not the hoarder, his wife (who they find hiding under a tarp) is, and she has the same symptoms as him. They diagnose Q-fever (from racoon poop) and the husband recovers with meds but the wife has a heart attack. Masters finds baby clothes in the festering hoarder’s nest and with 13’s help (who can’t help jumping into the diagnosis while House is on the loudspeaker to the team – much to their surprise - and her help prompts House to exclaim "the bitch is back" with an evil grin on his face) they diagnose Ehlers-Danlos syndrome which explains the wife’s symptoms and causes miscarriages. The wife had suffered 3 miscarriages unbeknownst to the husband, and it triggered the hoarding.
13 re-engineers House’s lame 2nd place-getting spud gun to try to beat the pesky Champ, Harold Lam, but the champ shows up with a new mother of a spud gun. House tries to bluff Harold but he’s a young smart-arse genius who can see through House’s bluff-lies about 13 being a Russian physicist who has nuclear-powered his potato bazooka. 13 is upset after House solves the puzzle of her sibling’s euthanasia, and then sledges him about his break up with Cuddy. House then goes back and shoots Harold with his spud gun, after the dick asks if can hit on 13.
The team inner turmoil story revolves around Taub standing up his latest fling, a cute 22 year old receptionist from the hospital, to have sneaky sex with his wife while Foreman is supposedly at the gym, but he springs them after seeing a text on Taub’s phone. Taub and his wife are having fun being “dirty”.
House hires 13 as his assistant (can’t wait to see the dynamic between 13 and Masters) and as he is dropping her off at her apartment, he promises her that he will euthanize her when the time is right. She is moved.
Absolutely top notch episode.

Re: House
I'm way behind because I buy the DVDs and watch at my own leisure. I can't handle commercial tv except for the news and sport.
I like character storylines in addition to the medical stuff which tends to be quite repetitive on this program, compared with say Doc Martin.

It's why getting help from Bob* is the way to go, Red. You get the episodes literally minutes after they've aired in the States.
