I think tonight's Channel 10 ep is 13's return incorporating spud gun contest. Grouse epi.

Watched the Finale from the States last night - S07E23 - Moving On. Pretty good, but I think I was expecting a bit more after a quality season.

- Ep starts with Cuddy and Wilson receiving medical attention and Cuddy telling a cop to chuck House's arse in prison. Then we get the "3 days earlier".
House leads the team from a hospital bed while recovering from trying to hack out his own failed-drug-induced tumours. They are working on a female performance artist who does death-defying stunts as art. She collapses during a show and House is interested. Turns out she was poisoning herself to get to see House. She has been treated before for cancer but the radiation affected her performance so she was hoping for a different answer under House. They work out she has Wegener's Granulomatosis (not cancer), which can be treated with steroids and radiation, but she refuses, again because it will stuff up her coordination during her performance pieces, and her life is nothing without her art. But her assistant (who loves her) and 13 change her mind.
Taub's story gets more complicated. He meets his wife Rachel, and not only is Taub's red-headed fling pregnant but so is his wife!!!
House and Cuddy are still wrestling with their emotions in the aftermath of their break-up. Over lunch House finally, pretty aggressively, tells Cuddy that he was hurt by the break-up but that it wasn't her fault. Cuddy had confirmed to House that she was not dating. House finds a hairbrush of Cuddy's and goes over with Wilson (on the way to a bar) to drop it off. He sees Cuddy having a dinner with her sister and partner, and Cuddy's new beau (a guy that Cuddy's sister was trying to match her up with)!! House turns and walks away, gets into Wilson's car, knocks him out of the way and drives the car straight into Cuddy's dining room. Hence the opening scene. Typical of House, he tells Wilson that he now feels much better. Epi and season ends with House drinking at a bar in the Caribbean.

Season 8 Premiere - Twenty Vicodin. The usual excellent quality.

- House is doing time in the Big House for driving Wilson's car into Cuddy's dining room. Turns out he declined a lawyer to ensure he did time.
Episode focusses on House's final week of serving 8 months of a 12 month sentence. All he has to do is stay out of trouble for a week and he's out on parole. In this week he has to deal with inmates stealing or demanding his stuff as they know he's out soon, and the prison heavy Mendelson demanding 20 Vicodin (House has been sharing 2 of his 6 a day with said heavy up to now) as a going away present. This is a big challenge but House is more interested in the symptoms of a young inmate (Nick) who initially appears to be suffering from Lupus. After using his usual razor sharp observation skills, he pegs young prison clinic doctor Jessica Adams as an idealistic lass with "old" money behind her, who wants to make a difference but is bored with the prison case files. He gets her interested in the Nick's symptoms. The head doctor wants nothing to do with the case. After further observations House and Adams think it is lung cancer.
Meanwhile House has to placate a homicidal cellmate (Asofa) who has a penchant for pets, in this case a sick cricket. House works out that the cricket is suffering from pesticide poisoning, and rigs up a quick fix for the bug.
House is struggling to come up with the 20 Vicodin so requests protective custody (even though Mendelson says his friends on the outside will get him) but on the way to PC, after seeing a guard drinking hot coffee, has an epiphany as to Nick’s health problems. House believes he has Mastocytosis triggered by hot liquids which explains all the symptoms but needs to confirm it with an aspirin test to trigger a confirming anaphylactic shock. The head doctor (Sykes) refuses and orders House out of the clinic. Dr. Adams can see House is in pain and gives him the 20 Vicodin he needs to get Mendelson off his back.
House confronts Mendelson and shows him the Vicodin but in a typical House move, he grins and throws them into the air, sparking a riot. Mendelson’s beats House up and orders his henchman Sullivan to finish House off. He grabs a hidden shank and is about to stab House until cellmate Asofa comes to his rescue out of gratitude that House saved his cricket.
The beat-up House is taken to the clinic where he quickly goes to work trying to administer the aspirin test to Nick, but Sykes stops it. House feels defeated until he sees Dr. Adams doing the test. There is no immediate reaction from Nick, leaving House and Adams looking confused.
Next shot is House in solitary protective custody. He has his dinner slipped into his cell with a note. It simple says “You were right”. Ep ends.

And the synopsis for the next 3 episodes makes no mention of Chase, Foreman, Taub or 13.
