Bowling is a class above a lot of the sides in Div 2

Matt Mason is not far a way from a comeback as well - just as well if Jonah gets recalled by England. The batting is a worry though. Moore has gone off the boil, and Davies has hardly scored a run - not keeping brilliantly either if the byes he conceded against Leicesterfontein are anything to go by.

A word, or three for James Foster though - a class act with the gloves - as good as Read I think. Now if only he could put together some decnt runs in the four day game.

We'll have to agree to disagree then - it's all academic anyway, as soon as Ambrose is consigned to the England wicketkeeper's limbo, there'll be a recall for Matt Prior - just you watch.

The bowling can get you out of this division though. That's the problem between Essex's 1 day and 4 day stuff. We're like frigging NZ with all our dibbly dobbly bowlers!

He's scoring runs in the longer form of the game too, so he's no smash and grab merchant.

For sure .... I've seen him in both forms of the game this season and he's impressed.

Hits the ball cleanly and powerfully and has all the necessary shots.
Slightly susceptable to the short lifting ball on/just outside leg (slow in moving across)
otherwise - yes - at 20 yo, he is a serious future prospect.
There's natural talent there - plain to see - and as long as Toby Radford (Mddsx coach)
leaves the 'tweaking' alone, all will be well with Malan.

The other two lads in the current Middlesex team worth a mention, other than Ben Scott who had a mare last evening
at the Oval, are Eoin Morgan (bat) and Steven Finn (ball).
Things are looking good for the Sexies right now - let's hope it lasts.

I saw a fair bit of Morgan in the 2007 world cup when he played for Ireland. Didn't look all that impressive to me. Still, a lot can change in the space of a year when you're 21/22.

No wickets but another 7 overs under Simon Jones's belt. Has now bowled 104 overs this season without any worries. Is that enough to get him into the side for the second Test?

Sales c Davies b Mason 11.

Good(ish) comeback by Worcs after getting rolled over. 3 cheers for Matt Mason - his first county game since 2006 and he takes 2 for 9 off 6.

I guess it was the logistics of replaying the Yorks V Notts game and then the Q/Final that led to that decision.

The hearing was chaired by Judge Gun Slinger, with James Stitchemup QC and Simon Shaftingchief also sitting, we never stood a chance.
