Surely you can find time for a handful of posts a day??
I'm a bit of an addictive personality . . . whatever I do I focus on completely. I work 14 hour days or not at all. It's just the way I am.

It's not a good thing and I wish I was an 8 an 8 hour work, 8 hour sleep, 8 hour play man.

Works for me, accept for the 8 hours sleep bit. I seem to be averaging about 4 these days.tac wrote:skully wrote:Fair do's tac. And you are probably right. I can be exhausted but go to bed at midnight and still farkin wake up at 4 am. My old man was the same. He became an expert on early morning talk-back radio.tac wrote:I wnent about 5-6 years getting about 4 hours a night . . . looking back I reckon it took years off my life
I guess the "years off your life" comment encapsulates my amazement at your decision to go full-tilt at the rat race again.

Mate, I'm only 42. I've got to do something, and I can see a need for my expertise here in japan. Also, I should make a sheet load of money.

Mate, swanning around in a Lexus, snuffling with a tidy French lass, forumming, enjoying the full spectrum of cable channels, forumming, washing your lava lava, having a swim, having a water ski, forumming, having a jet ski, having a pull, doing whatever the fark I feel like, and forumming, sounds like doing plenty to me. I admire your work gene.tac wrote:Mate, I'm only 42. I've got to do something, and I can see a need for my expertise here in japan. Also, I should make a sheet load of money.

Re: Yellow Jersey thread
Having never had the pleasure, I guess I'm not really in a position to comment. But I've been back at work for one week, after a nice 4 week break, and it was the week from hell. Everything that could go wrong, did. I long for the days when my greatest problem after getting out of bed is thinking of something to do. If the farkin stock market does the right thing, that is about 10 years from now. Sometimes I feel like a prisoner crossing off the days left in my sentence.tac wrote:It was driving me crazy . . . when you have so much freetime you don't know how to spend it.

That doesn't sound too healthy, skull. I've honestly never not enjoyed getting up and going to work. (except the 2 months after I decided to take early retirement and was just biding my time . . . that was murder).

Re: Yellow Jersey thread
I envy the 5% of the population (and you clearly are in that %) that love getting up and going to work each day. My career came from what I did best at school, not from what I loved. Hence I do what I'm best at, not what I love. End of.tac wrote:That doesn't sound too healthy, skull. I've honestly never not enjoyed getting up and going to work. Well, it's not a change in the yellow jersey. That seems to be skuly's in perpetuity. But I'm back on the podium for the first time in at least two years.

Interesting read. Bit of a psychiatrist's session there. But still all rings true 2 years later.
Still crossing the days off on the prison wall.

PMSL. Dello whining about having to come up with new ranking icons as far back as 5000 posts and only 6 months after the joint opened for business.Dello wrote:tac wrote:On the last lap to 5000, boy it's been a fantastic effort . . .
Will you fook off at the end of it?
(nothing personal, I just don't have any more ranking icons after 5000 and you - and only you - are forcing me to go out and look for more.)
Good times.

Indeed Zoggy. The standard of icons declines dramatically after the ECG.
