O/T - Murray v Nadal
Anyone staying up to watch this?
Got to be up early tomorrow to head up to the Steel City for a mate's 40th birthday bash, but fancy this might be a corker.
Great result for Murray to beat Djokovic yesterday.
Hardly a suprise that the fitter he gets, the better he seems to get, but Murray really seems to be someone who gets knocked back by even the slightest pull or twinge, and just at the moment he seems in decent nick.
Will be interesting to see how much more effectively he can compete with Nadal than he did at Wimbledon after his epic against Gasquet.

Murray will lose, I will laugh at his crying Scottish face, and all will sit well between me and the world. And no, I'm not getting up early/staying up late to watch it - if I can't do it to watch England get thrashed in the Ashes, I can't do it for cǘntmonkey and his antics.

The Masters series is hardly meaningless if you're a tennis fan.
Players on court . . .

Not a huge tennis fan but isn't this one rung down from the slams?

Me neither, but yup - basically.
Ridiculously high standard from both players early on.
Tennis is great to watch when it is played as well as these two are.
4-3 to Murray with serve and he's more than holding his own so far.
Going to have to go to bed, and I'm sure that Nadal will come through eventually, but good to see Murray slugging it out toe-to-toe and competing with a guy who will go past Federer as World No 1 before the end of the year IMO.

Probably, but if Murrays doing well it's significance will be HUGE.

Re: O/T - Murray v Nadal
Nadal will be World No 1 next week. Frankly, he has unofficially been No 1 since the French.

Murray through to the final, despatches Karlovic pretty ruthlessly.
Early chance for him to beat the new World No 1 in all likelihood.

Indeed.
Decent enough match, but Nadal had lost a spark.
Understandable.
Big opportunity for Murray now to stake a claim to being the player most likely to make an impression on the top 3 over the coming months.
