Sadly, whilst it's FANBLOODYTASTIC to see the Saffies bomb, it would have made for better matches if they had got through.

Exactly, they were the best side in the competition up until this game. It's another predictable trophy for Australia now I think, they have easily the most experience and after having two let-offs surely won't make the same mistake a third time.doctorspin wrote:Sadly, whilst it's FANBLOODYTASTIC to see the Saffies bomb, it would have made for better matches if they had got through.

How do they do it? How do they ******* do it everytime? Generation after generation, it must be some fantastic talent to choke like this.

Rohit Sharma gets the MOM. Should have been shared with RP.

SA choke again, unbelievable really well in a way they deserve it why mess with the wicket like that? they would have a much better chance against India on a more flat wicket, at the end of the day SA only had 3 specialist bats which is not enough playing on surfaces like that.
Anyway congrats India! yet again i made a poor decision in the fantasy league by getting rid of RP.

Nah, its 20/20, its wide open still.
India and Pakistan have exciting and unpredictable teams. New Zealand are decent too, I bet the odds are a lot more even than they would have been for the 50 over World Cup.
We've seen India trounce South Africa in perfect conditions for the South African seamers and with their star batsman injured. If they got Yuvraj back, and dropped the distinctly average Joginder Sharma for Piyush Chawla (although I doubt this will happen) then they would have a real team.
Pakistan's batting can be very brittle but has real six hitting potential with the likes of Nazir and Afridi and the middle order of Misbah, Younus and Shoaib Malik have done well. Then they have plenty of bowling flair with Asif, Afridi and Sohail Tanvir.
New Zealand have been the biggest six hitters so far and with the impressive Mark Gillespie and Dan Vettori, as well as Shane Bond who'ss yet to fire they have a good strong bowling attack.
Australia must be the favourites, a good seam battery and their depth of batting talent speaks for themselves. But no Ponting and already beaten twice in 5 games so they're no racing certainty.

The Saffer strategy of making a heavily seamer friendly track bit their collective a$$es again. You're much much better playing against us in flat tracks where our seamers aren't effective.

What a match, what a result. I didn't expect India to win this one. South Africa prove once again that they are chockers.

Well done India, but the tournament will have lost a little bit of edge by not having the host nation in the semis.
