Lamb or beef? Or you go in for some of Bernard Matthew's turkey? Or, heaven forbid, quorn?

Quorn mince isn't bad. Nor is turkey. Nor is chicken. Nor is lamd. Nor is beef.
Pork on the other hand.........................

Quorn's only as good as all the other stuff you put in with it to make it taste of something.

Quorn is fungus. So I can't eat it.
Or even be in the same room as it.
Re: Official mincing thread for all who like to mince...
Never. Was once at a shroom party where I was the only one abstaining - sticking strictly to some really crap flat-press - while everyone else was weirding out.
They looked like a bunch of twats.

Yeah. It is weird. I got nicked on them outside my brother's house. 8 of the dickheads didn't know what happened but daredn't even open the front door. Bunch of twats.

Well, I just did Quorn mince with some Mexican taco spice, bit of olive oil, shoved into some taco trays...........Brass Monkey wrote:eowyn wrote:

sprinkled with grated cheese, a little roasted pepper salsa and some shredded lettuce and it was bloody lovely.
Quorn mince lacks oil so a drop of olive oil in it, when you're cooking, makes it much better.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I used to have Super Kick Off on the SNES, which was an updated version of the classic Amega football game Kick Off.
It was a shockingly appalling conversion - sullied the original's name good and proper - but it did have moments of rubbish hilarity. One was the crowd noise, which was total silence all the way through the match until you scored a goal and then would burst into life literally ten seconds after the ball hit the back of the net before abruptly stopping a split-second later.
Another was that they didn't have the license to use proper footballer's names, so they came up with slight variations on everybody. Roy Keane would be Ray Keen and Eric Cantona would be something like Eddie Cortina. But my favourite - and which always springs to mind whenever he's mentioned in the press or wherever - was Paul Mince.
