Champions trophy will now be called the B and B trophy

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB ) officials have started lobbying for a four-nation one-day tournament in case next month's ICC Champions Trophy is cancelled on Sunday. The fate of the tournament hangs in balance after International Cricket Council (ICC) failed to reach a consensus over holding the event in Pakistan
ustralia, New Zealand and England continue to have security concerns on playing in Pakistan, while South Africa are almost certain to follow the wavering countries when the ICC task team meet their officials in Johannesburg on Friday.
"We are looking at the option of hosting a four-nation event in Pakistan with India, West Indies and Sri Lanka to join the hosts and the event is played on double league," said a PCB source.
Pakistan have been deprived of some useful cricket since the turn of the year. Australia postponed a planned trip in March-April, while efforts to lure India, Sri Lanka, South Africa and New Zealand to play short ODI series also failed. A planned four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Canada from August 14-17 was also postponed after West Indies refused to compete.
"We are short on cricket and the team has no assignment if the Champions Trophy is cancelled, so we are already in negotiations with three other countries to play the four-nation tournament. It would not only help the team get some cricket but by hosting the event we can also prove to the world that it is safe to play cricket in Pakistan."
The ICC was also thinking on the lines of inviting B teams like Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Ireland in case top teams refuse to come for the Champions Trophy but the idea will surely be resisted by ICC broadcasters ESPN-STAR as they want the top teams to compete in the Trophy.

It'll effectively just be another Asian Cup.

The Champions Trophy is the biggest heap of shit since Fred Flintstone gave his pet dinosaur that chicken tikka masala laced with laxatives.
I can't believe the ICC (or should that be BCCI) haven't realised that the Cricket World Cup should be held every two years. They're missing out on pots of money. And from a purely sporting viewpoint it makes perfect sense too. Instead we have to endure JAMChampions Trophy.

WI is busy playing a meaningless ODI series against the likes of Bermuda and Canada and have just broken the WR for most sixes in an ODI innings.A planned four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Canada from August 14-17
